Re: Pontiac G3 Comes State-Side!

I just wish they made it here, instead of importing it. Then they could be making more profit. I can actually buy one with a credit card if it's priced like the Aveo. But yeah... not spending money on something made in Korea if I can help it. And it does look pretty good for a car in that class. This generation Fit doesn't look as good, but last generation's Fit looked way cool.

Um...no. Probably not. The Corolla is a boring piece of appliance hardware, but it's built nicely, for the most part.

The look of the Aveo/G3 interior isn't bad, but touch it and give it some time and you'll realize why it's quite poor.

Don't be rude.

There we go. I can live with a Buick LaAveo.

So how does moving one sale from the Chevy store to the Pontiac store help with GM's CAFE? Because that's how it'll be assessed

Re: Pontiac G3 Comes State-Side!

Looking at the pictures at Autoblog, I don't like the way the radio display totally clashes with the rest of the interior. I hate that "corporate radio!" It makes the LaCross interior suck too. Not all Hondas have the same radio face. I don't know about other brands, just know Honda because my family had a bunch of different ones, but I'm pretty sure they don't do the same radio in every car thing.

That side vent makes it -oh- so sexy, too! And those fender flares! That cool antenna thingy at the top of the windshield! Drop-dead gorgeous! It is about time Pontiac has something world-class to sell along side the Solstice and the G8.

I hope the wait lists aren't too long yet.
Wait for the GXP with a glue on hood scoop.

This is horrible, dealers are so dumb for requesting another rebadge. How much does the G5 sell in comparison to the Cobalt. What makes them think that they can expect more from an Aveo.

In canada, the g5 outsells the cobalt in retail sales which is funny, because when the j-cars were around, the cavi outsold the sunfire as the sunfire was a 'chicks car' (evidence shown below. This is my wife's car):

Re: Pontiac G3 Comes State-Side!

This is painfully pathetic for Pontiac. This car sucks. This is a bad joke. Pontiac should have a four door G5 instead of this. I barely tolerate it as a Chevrolet. I talked to a few salespeople and they tell me the Aveo is a good selling tool to sell more Cobalts. Once people see how pathetic the Aveo is, it's a pleasurable experience to get people acqainted with a Cobalt. If you buy an Aveo over a Cobalt Special Edition, you need mental help.

GM is very careful not to take away sales from Chevrolet. GM execs don't want to admit they are starving the Buick and Pontiac line. Pontiac dealers know this fact very well and harp on their feild reps every day. The lack of a four door G5 is the smoking gun in proving GM wants to curb Pontiac sales. Canada is a different market because some towns don't have both franchises. Some small towns in Canada only have a Pontiac/GMC Dealer. The nearest Chevrolet Dealer may be 25 miles away.

Oh come on! God damn it! That's really frustrating for me, because I really don't want to send my money to other countries. I want my money to mostly stay HERE! I'd rather put food on an American's (even if he or she works for the greedy UAW) table. I know it sounds racist and bad of me, but I really see how bad shape we're in and I want to do what I can to help the economy (it's a little drop in the bucket, but it's something). I know you're in Canada too... but I don't want you guys getting my money either. I'm sorry... things are just really bad here (in my view, at least).

Are the G5s built in the US?

I would hope your not comparing this car to a Honda Fit. A Honda Fit is a Rolls Royce compared to the Aveo. Ther is no comparison at all. I spent time in both cars and a Honda Fit is far superior. The Aveo is an old left over Daewoo with new sheet metal. To be fair the Honda is more money and you may have to pay sticker. Ummm, you may have to wait a month for the Honda as well.
