Pontiac Adds 72 Month 0% Incentive To '06 GTO; Under 1,000 Remain In Stock

As of July 1st, there were just under 1,000 GTO units in dealer stocks.

Using the link below, I found 25 within 75 miles of my home.

Current GM Pontiac GTO incentive is zero percent financing for 72 months (six years). That's about $350 a month on a $25K transaction.

Find a 2006 GTO near you @:

72 months at Zero percent financing is allowing this great vehicle to be affordable to almost anyone!

Smart move.

Thanks for the heads up!

This is making me think about trading in my TBSS....

72 months is 6 years, not 5. But 0% for that long of a term is a great deal. Too bad the cars are going on two model years old; unless you can get a killer deal on it, when you go to sell it, the buyer isn't going to care if you bought the car in August 2007 instead of September 2005.

It seems entirely possible that there will still be a handful of GTOs on the lots when the G8 arrives.

Wow, what a deal!! I wonder what GM will offer next for these cars. I can see the ad now:

"Buy a new 2008 G5 and we will throw a GTO in for FREE!!"

Re: Pontiac Adds 72 Month 0% Incentive To '06 GTO; Under 1,000 Remain In Stock

If you go to the LS1GTO site a GM insider who is part of the program says 721 left as of July 1, of which 136 are manuals. 400 sold in June. They are still selling at 100 a week, no budging on price except for standard incentives.

LS1GTO discussion on sales.

Many people on this thread chased up vehicles on the dealer locator only to find them gone. It is notoriously inaccurate and has been since day one in 2004, as it showed vehicles en route to dealers and those which had been sold months before. The dealers are not updating their stock profile promptly - understandable in that they hope to sell you something else or do a dealer swap for one. The stories below is typical -

Quote:
July 18 - On Monday there were two on the local lot. I took the silver one and someone took the spice one on Wednesday. Before I got mine the salesmen looked to see what other colors were available within 500 miles. It was about 20 or so.

19 July - There is NO M6's in the state of Texas. I had to get my M6 from MN (closest one to Texas with black interior, and that was not red)!

20 July - I did a search and counted 15 in Virginia. Though I drove by my local dealer who had 3 on the list and I did not see one on the lot

20 July -
I bought the last M6 in Texas.. they had to drive it up from Del Rio
Those people who were claiming there would be another firesale were not correct. By the end of August (before G8 arrives), they'll be gone. The 0% for 72 applies to every 2006 GM car or truck, not just the GTO.

Thank you for the update.

Interesting to see how the manual transmission seems to be more popular.

I hope GM gets the G8 transmission balance right. I am most interested in replacing my Saab with a G8 GT manual next summer.

Damn, I just did a search through the Pontiac website and every vehicle in dealer inventory in the state of Texas is an auto...

I'd be trading the SS otherwise.

God I wish I could justify trading in my mid-sizer with an I4 and stick for a GTO with a V8 and a stick for roughly the same price --------- but I can't right now in light of gasprices, etc.

Dam my practicality!!!

Man oh man oh man....if only I had the money right now.

I SOOOOO want one and this really sucks that I can't get this car right now. My friend recently wrecked his Mustang and is looking for a replacement car. I'm going to push him towards this as it's a killer deal. Even if I can't buy one now, I'd still like to be around one that I can drive every now and then.

Re: Pontiac Adds 72 Month 0% Incentive To '06 GTO; Under 1,000 Remain In Stock

Monaros were 75% automatics, so GM initially thought that would be the right proportion for GTOs. In the first model it was running at over 50% so was changed for subsequent models. As the manual has always been quicker plus more fun to play Drift in this is understandable.

This data posted Sept 21 2006 on LS1GTO after the last one landed:
2004 MY Total Production: 15,740
MN6 Manual T56 8,486 53.91%
MXO Automatic 4L60E 7,254 46.09%

% Quantity 2005MY Pontiac GTO
100.00% 11069 2VX37 (ALL)
61.51% 6809 Manual MN6
38.49% 4260 Automatic MX0

% Quantity 2006MY Pontiac GTO
100.00% 13948 2VX37 (ALL)
62.83% 8764 Manual MN6
37.17% 5184 Automatic MX0

Yeah that sounds great, except the GTO is about $7,000 more than that.
