At least they could've given it a proper funeral by having the G8 as the last model. Even at it's most desperate time GM grade stupidity still manages to show through thanx alot Fritz

I wonder if they have to honor a contract with Toyota? Either perhaps pontiac will live a few years just with the Vibe since its relitivly cheap costs, and then when the times are better revive pontiac.

And gawd damn, they are going out with a bang. The Solsitce is arguably one of the sexiest cars on the road. And the G8 is tight all-round. Enough performance to raise ones testoterone levels a few notches, add 1" to your **** with equal amounts of girth and give you bigger balls. Or give you back your balls if you previously misplaced them. Some of the best cars many consumers will, and have, never seen, nor considered.

They have a deal with Toyota to keep making cars at their joint plant. Nothing stupid about halting expensive imports of the G8.

This is so sad. They could have at least kept the G8 until the end! At least then Pontiac could have gone out with some spunk. A G8 with some type of "Pontiac Heritage" package would have been nice.

Sadly, most people will remember the brand for the Aztek than the G8....

Seriously, why don't they simply offer it to Penske for the Saturn brand? It would be at no extra cost for GM as it doesn't really have anything competing with it (don't think the HHR quite gets the same clientele as the Vibe) and it would steal sales from Toyota and its Matrix. It's also a much better fit for Saturn than for Pontiac, and has always been.

Plus, as a Saturn owner, it would be a stop-gap measure for Saturn to offer a small car while Penske gets one from another maker.

I wonder the same thing. Saturn started as a low cost brand. Then tried to go to the exact opposite. Vibe could undercut anything they had or have for sale for the last year. Guess it would make too much sense so it will never happen.
