Hot Rod Magazine's 700 HP GTO
The Story Of Flowmaster's Little GTO With A Big 700 HP
writer: David Freiburger photographer: Wes Allison, David Fetherston, Kevin McClelland ![]() There's a certain autonomy afforded aftermarket industry insiders-it's the liberty to rip apart brand-new cars and throw everything at 'em in a manner that few real-world rodders could afford, all in the name of product development, PR value, being the first to find the car's limits, and just plain goin' fast on the company dime. So, when we ran into Flowmaster's Kevin McClelland at the '03 SEMA Show and he told us that the company had ordered one of the first '04 GTOs from Wood Pontiac, we told him we wanted to tag along. Tire smoke? No problem. Article continues at link.... http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/g...ion/index.html

Re: Hot Rod Magazine's 700 HP GTO
I love the GTO but I don't like those fugly black hashmarks no the lower front fascia. Bleh.
I'd be in the market for a used one but the price of the G8 is so good that bar any "market adjustment" I will buy one of those for the family. I'll take mine in gray with a 6-speed, please. |

Re: Hot Rod Magazine's 700 HP GTO
Sweet! Those LS6s are awesome motors.
![]() 381 rwhp without the bottle, not too shabby -- not stellar, but not too shabby. I'd throw a turbo on that car, and make that 564rwhp ALL the time. It's got the forged setup (and lower compression ratio) to take it. I'll have to go to a forged rotating assembly to make much more than 450rwhp (540 flywheel hp) on my 3V 4.6L. I'm making about 390rwhp right now (475hp to the crank).

Re: Hot Rod Magazine's 700 HP GTO
why not just do what everyone else does? throw on a supercharger, some small internals and you'll hit 500-600HP no worries, then in usual "bigger is better" style, throw on the NOS system
