The brand hasn't been known for much "excitement" for a long time. I'm still bitter Maximum Bob killed the wagon version

What sport sedan can you get for less than C$30K?

Well, I like my Grand Prix a lot, but I got it for less than the G8 V6. For an extra $6,000 over the price of my GP, I would certainly expect it to be a better car. Still, I would've preferred it to start at $29K instead of $32K.

The base Charger has 190hp, not a sport sedan.

With luck, you can grab an overstock Magnum towards the end of the year (V6, 250HP) for 17 grand.

A local Dodge dealer had 19 in stock. =O

Re: GM announces Canadian pricing on the Pontiac G8

I've got '07 Magnum SXTs with under 50,000 Kms for about $16K...Charger SXTs too.

Back on topic, 30-something thousand for a G8...reasonable IMO. You do get a lot of car for that money. I'd sooner spend the money on a V6 G8 than any Epsilon with the 3.6.

Magnums and Chargers can be found for so cheap. Even SRT-8's can be had for about $35,000

They finally updated there website for the G8 but you still can't build one yet.

Thanks for the heads up. So it is just under 42K for a fully loaded G8 GT (inc Destination). What's the comparable US model cost? 33K?

Re: GM announces Canadian pricing on the Pontiac G8

Other than Chet above...why is it no one here in Canada is complaining to GM about ridiculous pricing difference between Canada and US. Talking to dealers here and in the US...plainly state the Canadian consumer is being screwed. GM Corporate can only say price difference reflect different marketing costs in each country...but $10,000 difference between fully equipped G8 GT...come on.

Plus then there is the issue of resale. Fully costed out G8 GT will be 42-grand...32-grand in the US. A year from now...say you want to sell the thing...what will the market be. Discounted US price may be 25-grand? That's quite a hit for a Canadian to take. GM corporate reps squirm when asked pointed questions to which they cannot answer. It's no wonder this company is in the trouble it is

Love the car...very disappointed with GM pricing policy designed to take advantage of Canadian consumer. If you want the car...which I do...might wait a year and buy used in the US.

Re: GM announces Canadian pricing on the Pontiac G8

Seen my first two G8s one was a GT(red) with list of 40,000CDN(one option) the second was thw base G8 (black)with a list of 37,000(with options) both are nice cars but way to much cion for the cars they replaced.
