The HUD makes the most sense on a SAAB

I actually think it looks pretty nice. It seems it's either been love or hate with this car in the first thread last week.

I like the instrument binnacle arrangement, though it is a fairly radical departure for the Saab

Love it or hate it. That's pretty much SAAB.

Yea ,the new 9-5 looks a little more mainstream. It's well done. The interior with the graphite look surface is a step in the right direction. From the interior pics I could not tell if the key switch is located in the center console next to the gear shift. I guess we'll found out. Looks pretty sharp.

the push button is right behind the gear surround.

The three-quarter rear shot of the car makes me think the designers were shooting for a modern version of this:

I like the interior though. Has kind of an '80s BMW look with everything canted towards the driver.

Edit: What powertrains is this going to get?

It's not a really pleasant/attractive shape or interior...

That's why its a SAAB. They are always quirky looking. GM have done a nice job though on updating this 9-5

Better looking and probably more fun to drive than the Lacrosse. Looks like it's available with a manual transmission, which Buicks should offer too. That's definitely something I look for.

Re: First high-res shots of Saab’s next-gen 9-5

Well it manages to be a quirky SAAB, which isn't my cup of tea, but SAAB isn't supposed to be. I like the look of the greenhouse. The 9-3 looks so sleek and this one looks sort of boring from the front. I saw the leaked images the other day and thought "boring!" I wondered what I liked about SAAB recently, then I saw a new 9-3 on the road. That car looks sharp and this one just doesn't, though they definately look similar.

Re: First high-res shots of Saab’s next-gen 9-5

I must say that I really like the center console design and the button and screen layout. I think the carbon fibre material looks really slick as well. The only thing I don't really like is the crate/grid design for the vents. The overall shape of the vehicle is nice but the front end is rather bland. Very Saab, but bland.

Will there still be a 9-5 wagon version for NA?

What is the TTID4 bagding? Twin Turbo Injected Diesel 4 cylinder? Or all-wheel drive?

I thought that Saab lost the right to use the circular griffin emblem on the hood...
