Cars.com Reviews 2008 Hummer H3 Alpha with Video

http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2...m-revie-1.html

That's the link to the blog post about the review with a link to the full review and the video embedded.

It gets a mixed review because of how awful the mileage is, worse than a Suburban! But of course it hauls a$$.
Quote:
Ever since it debuted for the 2006 model year, Hummer's H3 has been one of the toughest-looking SUVs around, while its engine offerings have been comparatively puny. That changes with the debut of the new H3 Alpha, which gives the midsize SUV V-8 power for the first time. Already a competent off-roader, the thirsty V-8 transforms the H3 into a truck that's much easier to live with in urban and suburban jungles, which many H3s call home.

I've heard of rearview mirrors where the camera image will magically show up in the mirror

I'll take the 3.7L/5-Speed, please.

That rearview camera mirror is pretty sweet too. I'd expect to see that in other GM trucks soon.

I believe we first saw the mirror in the updated interior of the H2. I had no idea they were putting it in the H3 so this is a plesant surprise.

Why are Hummers so heavy? It's a body placed on a pickup, kind of, right? An older Explorer doesn't weight THAT much more than a Ranger, so why does an H3 weigh so much more than a Colorado?

There's more to it than that. It's not a GMT-355, rather a GMT-345 that is based on the GMT-355. It has heavier components and a stiffer frame.

"Theres alot of engine noise in the cabin"

As it should be, I like hearing my V8. The H3 isnt for the luxury leather tank crowd, so this better not come as a con to other reviews.

Let that H3 rock its V8 with pride.
