Re: BPG Exec thinks Pontiac is a good fit for a Volt-clone
Pontiac, no, Pontiac should not get an E-Flex, give them a RWD 2-Mode to help acceleration.
I do not remember who said it, but a Buick Electra makes more sense. The name is already there.

Good god.....it seems like these idiots never learn!
![]() First it's a return to the same FWD garbage that put them down in the gutter in the last two decades..........now it's more of the misguided belief that "we could do great things if you just let us clone___________" Does anyone honestly expect a Pontiac version of the Volt would be that much different??

Re: BPG Exec thinks Pontiac is a good fit for a Volt-clone
I have no problem with this eventually if it's in a unique-looking vehicle, but not until Caddy and Buick have their own E-Flex vehicles. Pontiac is getting an Aveo-clone G3... what more do they need?!?

My personal take: I think GM should fire Susan Docherty.

GM needs to stop giving Pontiac random vehicles. Unless a-bunch-o'-cars is what GM has in store for the brand.

Re: BPG Exec thinks Pontiac is a good fit for a Volt-clone
it depends......
it can go to pontiac only if it is designed with performance in mind and mpg second. since electric has insta-torque and e85 is 100 octane, that would bode very well for a performance car. and it cannot, cannot look like the volt in any way- it needs to be completely new and different looking. call it the pontiac charge or something. buick can get one, as long as it too looks completely different (and im not talking lambda different) and it feels like a buick. tad upscale, floaty, etc. cadillac can have one too, but once again, it must look completely and feel completely different. spreading the drivetrain across brands will help bring down the price as well. for once gm's diversity can be a great advantage.

Re: BPG Exec thinks Pontiac is a good fit for a Volt-clone
Interesting idea. As long as it's not a Volt with twin grilles and a red dart slapped on, it'll be fine.

Re: BPG Exec thinks Pontiac is a good fit for a Volt-clone
All yall need to keep in mind that Eflex is a drivetrain that will be used across the board in all division (like the ICE) in different vehicles. Just because it will be a pontiac doesn't necessarilly mean it will be a rebadge. No one knows what they are going to do for sure at this point. I say get E-flex in as many GMs as they can!
