It kinda looks like a photoshoped Jeep Compass. But if this is the real deal, looks good and I can't wait to see the Toyota Matrix.

Not something I would ever consider, but a huge improvement over the last one.

Re: 2009 Pontiac Vibe GT Released!

Not bad! I see a lot of the G8 concept in the shape of the grille and bumper, and the color helps the association as well.

I'm delighted that they're bringing back the GT and AWD models as well. At one point in a different stage of my life (two incomes, no kids), I had considered a six speed manual Vibe GT for my wife, but we ended up with another Saturn L-series, then eventually with a Pathfinder LE 4x4 after we started our family.

Edit - just checked the Toyota media site; the Matrix (or Blade, or whatever else they're going to call theirs) isn't there yet.

Not my kind of ride, but looks nice for what it is. It's a pretty clean design with a decent stance.

I don't really like it, looks too much like a Toyota.

I like it, although I will hold my opinion on the 'RICEY' tailights until I see them in full, I miss my 03 GT.

I really don't like it either. Personally this is a step backwards. I feel the old Vibe has a much better exterior. Interior no doubt will be improved though, likely along with powertrains as well.

That's a nice update. Looks like a Matrix and Vibe had a baby.

I'm guessing the standard Vibe won't sport the bodykit trim or those wheels?

Re: 2009 Pontiac Vibe GT Released!

More muscular and sexy looking! I guess Pontiac won't be totally RWD, in the future. Which is probably a good thing. Performance, for a lot of people these days, is defined by turbocharged, AWD, sedans and hatches. Pontiac should aim to be the performance leader (within its price range), in all of the segments in which it sells vehicles, regardless of drivewheel orientation. The Vibe (thank goodness GM has not thrown away another name) make much more sense as Pontiac than the current G5. If Pontiac has to have an "entry-level" model, I prefer the Vibe, as it competes with the likes of the Mazda3 hatch, and Subaru Imprezza/WRX hatch.

I hate the color. But I love the understateg aggressiveness of the look.
I'd probably still get an HHR if I were in teh market for a small wagon-like vehicle.

Re: 2009 Pontiac Vibe GT Released!

I think it looks fine. For the target audience this is the type of car they want: attractive, practical hatch. Question is, with Pontiac going "performance" will this perform?

And, oh, the photography is nice.
