God points.

When I traded in my Trans Am I was looking at the Mustang and GTO and Charger. The Mustang did not have enough HP (the shelby was not out). The Charger had good HP but no stick shifter. The GTO had the stick shift and a nice 400 HP with a fun RWD and a very nice interior (Also a GREAT Price $). So I bought the GTO. BUT now with the G8 GXP I have my sights set on it. I expect I will be driving my new GXP when bluetooth is available.

With a projected price of nearly $10k over the GT and the dismal sales of the G8 overall GM is going to have a Hell of a time moving these cars.

Expect rebates.

At least their sales forecast, which they will fall short of.

"You guys" must suck at sales pretty effin' hardcore or something. We give "you" great cars, at cut throat prices, and "you guys" still can't move them off the lots.

It's a shaaaaaaaaame. :p

It is not the salesmen but the yuppy mentality that pervades the US. They are shallow people that rely on popular opion and not facts. So most choose a Honda, Lexus, or other foreign car over the Pontiac G8. Which is an awesome Australian car if there ever was.

Yep... the YUPPY MENTALITY. It comes with a Latte and a bisque.

What's a bisque???

Try to ignore sales figures, you'll sleep better at night! As long as you enjoy what you have bought, who cares if only 10 other people in the whole country bought it. If they stop making it you'll at least have one.

Bisque is a thick, cream soup made of shell fish. The most popular is Lobster Bisque, if you like fish you should try it. You are right though, just enjoy the car don't worry about the sales figures. People here just get off on doom and gloom, to them a car isn't successful unless it sells half a million a year.

Well, if you're trying to sell a $35,000 sedan, who do you think is buying it? Joe Lunchpail?

In higher-income circles, popular opinion is important. Is that shallow? Sure! But when shallow people have the big bucks, and you're running a BUSINESS reliant on sales to them, you have to stop judging them, and start building cars for them.

GM can either make their peace with the fact that the market is full of shallow pretentious people, or enjoy watching them drive by in BMWs while they stand on the unemployment line.

I am familiar with higher income families since I was raised in that environment. If you want to know what range a Yuppy sits in it is middle class. The wealthy may have children that join Yuppy crowds so they can be the hot shots but they are not Yuppies (at least not in my experiences).

Exactly. If you like it then that is what matters. It is not easy being yourself but it is real and not plastic.

Here in Jersey, the only way you get people to buy Lexus or Audi....is to have a Lexus or audi name on it.
The GXP G8 is performance, muscle, too bad most young people are into luxury and status and that is why most people won't even consider it.
