SAT NAV IS available for the Commodore.

Here's a link for you to Holden's website showing you the option for the Commodore.

"Turn by Turn" works just fine in my '07 SRX.
And I didn't have to pay $1600 + for it.
Why would I need a nav screen in my dash?

You do realise the AUD has recently fallen a massive 18% (within a 6 week period) against the greenback?

Doesn't matter. Nothing looks likely with the rate being so unstable recently

I'm sure these same people complaining about nav would still find something else to stop them from buying the G8. Perhaps not enough doors

How can one person be in possession of that much stupid?

All of this talk about nav? I'm an in-dash nav proponent, but for the $2,000+ price of most systems I can buy a sweet-ass Garmin unit and $1,200 worth of whatever or get an aftermarket unit with all the integration stuff and still save $500. On a car less than $40,000, when nav becomes a $500-$800 option, then I'll buy it.

As for the car itself... NICE!

I can almost guarantee that G8 or any other car of that class wouldn't sell. If Pontiac or any other car manufacturer really want to sell cars they better come up with inexpensive gas efficient models not niche models. Claiming most fuel efficient in its class is not enough. Consumers want the most fuel efficient cars, period. Under current economic conditions auto makers can no longer just throw in all kinds of unnecessary options and expect consumers to pay for them.

Not everyone wants a small gas-sipper. You can't drop everything and head for the hills every time it rains. The G8 has a place in the market, they just need to advertise it effectively.

I totally agree. They can take out the carpets, aircon, the radio and any satnav and I will put in what I want even if it costs more to do it. It gives me the choice of saving on fuel or even upgrading the quality from what they think we want vs what the accountants will let them povide. There will always be a market for niche models -in fact what i would like is probably viewed as a niche model anyway. I always laugh when I get in to an off road vehicle and find it has carpets.

I guess you didn't read my post about assuming huh? I bet if the car wasn't equipped with a stick shift that would be a good enough reason not to want it right? But of course no one on this forum would base a purchase of a car on such a stupid option, right?
