That's what they needed to do last year, not next year. The upper and lower grilles are both much improved.

Why did they bother? The car needs a new interior far more than it needs a "refreshed" exterior.

I like the new nose better than the current one. It looks like the interior is possibly getting some significant changes but it is hard to tell from the picture. The door panel looks changed. Assuming they update the rest and assuming they do as well as the Malibu or better (fingers crossed) it will be a much better car.

Re: 2009 Pontiac G6 Coupe Spotted?

A new interior would be fantastic, and may help sales a bit, especially if they add some powertrain options. But I'm afraid it's a little too late for any significant change in sales; most people have made up their mind about the car. A full redesign is necessary and probably should have been ready to go for next year.

The interior is unchanged, at least from what I can see. This coming from a G6 owner, so I sit in the interior everyday.

Also, I do know that the car will continue to use the old headunit for radio/HVAC, so they aren't changing much (more like nothing) in the interior.

Doesn't make sense at all not to upgrade the interior. I wouldn't care if they didn't change a SINGLE OTHER THING about the car.....the ONE thign that would get me to consider buying one would be TO change the radio/hvac controlls. How on earth they can not change the one single thing about this car that everyone complains about is a mystery.

Nice to see some updates. A new Interior is really whats needed. I'd love to see the coupe get the 2.4L/A6 combo.

Re: 2009 Pontiac G6 Coupe Spotted?

i've been seeing this for weeks now going north on mound around 8 mile on my way to work. I didn't think it was anything special.

But here's a treat for anybody living in the detroit area:
There is a stripped lincoln MKS on nine mile just east of Schoenherr.
Honestly I thought the production version would look better. It's parked right outside on the streeet, has no wheels so it won't go anywhere, pearl color. It was kinda late and the area is not the best, so I didn't wanna stop and take pix, but maybe i'll do that today.

Re: 2009 Pontiac G6 Coupe Spotted?

Jalopnik said in the article that MT reported the demise of the G6. Did I miss something? Other than that, I hope they didn't spend too much on this as I agree with others that this will do NOTHING for sales.

Wasted resources if the interior is not gutted completely. But you would think that one of the glaring weak points to the G6 was it's interior so that should have been job one.

Maybe GM would surpraise us with a Malibu like interior and improved driving abiltity with the revised G6.

The lower fascia looks too much like the Aura to me.

Re: 2009 Pontiac G6 Coupe Spotted?

A waste of time if they didn't upgrade the interior and add some more color choices. Also the cope should have a base 2.4/6 speed auto as base and optional bodyside moldings to make it look less plain and blah. Fingers crossed for a new head unit too.

I like the new schnoz but other than that and the possibly redesigned rear bumper everything else looks the same to me
