I felt like I was playing GT4!! Awesome!!

Oh 68CoupeDeVille, do a google search about ride alongs, I'm pretty sure a female driver (name?) gives rides around the 'Ring.

Interesting post over at corvetteforum:

OKAY,

Please everyone try this so you see that it's for real. I think we all know the GT-R is a pig on the top end, falls off badly after the 1/4 mile and we've seen tests where it just gets annihilated by everything from the Porsche Turbo to Z06 to GT2. And the ZR-1 is faster than all of the above.

Open two windows and play the vids simultaneously, it make take a few tries, but try to get it as close as possible. Watch through the vid and when it gets to the back straight time the gap between the ZR-1 and the GT-R from the sign at the beginning of the back straight to the sign at the end of the back straight. Or if you want put the videos so that they are even going into the back straight. The GT-R is DEAD EVEN WITH THE ZR-1!!!!!!!!!

The ZR-1 makes up approximately .4 sec on a straight that long. I'm sorry, but that is garbage, the ZR-1 will leave the GT-R by a mile on a long straight. That GT-R is doctored, I havent said that until now, but this is PROOF IMO.

Not a chance the GT-R is even in the same zip code as the ZR-1 on that back straight, but you can clearly see, this GT-R is going much faster than real life has shown.

Over and Out.

Not talking about you in particular... but some here would make up some stuff to try and debunk the GTRs 7:29 run.

I haven't been following the GT R stuff enough as overall I am not interested in the GT R, but wasn't the GT R run the one with what were in effect racing tires where as GM ran the ZR1 with the production tires?

Re: ZR1 Nurburgring Video

No the GTR was in fact on Factory tires.
This was very impressive though, I mean it scared the crap out of him so many times for driving it GT5 style that he was jaded at times. However he was 3AllS to the wall...

You can tell there was a very strong headwind during that straight, the rpms dropped at times, only to quickly recover. You could also almost tell the ZR1 got heat soaked as it rightfully should have because it didn't seem to have the response it did in the first couple of minutes towards the middle.

Eh, I wonder if that person has ever raced cars near top speed. A 0.4 sec lead at 180 mph equals over 100 feet. Putting 100 feet on a car at these speeds is very very difficult, even with a substantial power difference.

Re: ZR1 Nurburgring Video

Well I watched both vids at the same time and the ZR1 IS faster! Also Jim Mero did seem to be all over the track (meybe over steering?) and I'm sure Jan Magnussen of John Heinricy can take a few more seconds off. The head wind sure did slow down the ZR1 on the back straightaway (I saw the revs drop alittle). STILL a great run and thanks Jim for setting a record for GM!

Re: ZR1 Nurburgring Video

You know, I probably shouldn't be thinking about this yet, but...

All I can think of is what a nice Ball Bearing Y2K Turbo would do on a sucker like this. Get rid of that blower, this car would blow the doors off of space and time with a nice large efficent turbo. Its 0-60 would suffer likely but it would be amazing.

Now lets back that up and speculate about modifications...

Pulley, Tune, Headers back, intake =???

BTW, I did NOT hear that supercharger AT ALL, which means a very restrictive intake. Expect to see crazy numbers from an intake alone on this thing.

Congratulations GM!
ZR1 is the fastest production car in the world. The fact that it makes it without semi-slick tires is simply unbelievable ... great job!

How much it will cost in real world?

Damn.
You left out back seat capable and trendy masculine cutlines.
Your game is really shot.

Man, judging by your sore loser post, it must hurt for you to see Chevy on top.
