Re: ZR1 Nurburgring Video
I felt like I was playing GT4!! Awesome!!
Oh 68CoupeDeVille, do a google search about ride alongs, I'm pretty sure a female driver (name?) gives rides around the 'Ring.

Re: ZR1 Nurburgring Video
Not talking about you in particular... but some here would make up some stuff to try and debunk the GTRs 7:29 run.

Re: ZR1 Nurburgring Video
I haven't been following the GT R stuff enough as overall I am not interested in the GT R, but wasn't the GT R run the one with what were in effect racing tires where as GM ran the ZR1 with the production tires?

Re: ZR1 Nurburgring Video
No the GTR was in fact on Factory tires.
This was very impressive though, I mean it scared the crap out of him so many times for driving it GT5 style that he was jaded at times. However he was 3AllS to the wall... You can tell there was a very strong headwind during that straight, the rpms dropped at times, only to quickly recover. You could also almost tell the ZR1 got heat soaked as it rightfully should have because it didn't seem to have the response it did in the first couple of minutes towards the middle. |

Re: ZR1 Nurburgring Video
Well I watched both vids at the same time and the ZR1 IS faster! Also Jim Mero did seem to be all over the track (meybe over steering?) and I'm sure Jan Magnussen of John Heinricy can take a few more seconds off. The head wind sure did slow down the ZR1 on the back straightaway (I saw the revs drop alittle). STILL a great run and thanks Jim for setting a record for GM!

Re: ZR1 Nurburgring Video
You know, I probably shouldn't be thinking about this yet, but...
All I can think of is what a nice Ball Bearing Y2K Turbo would do on a sucker like this. Get rid of that blower, this car would blow the doors off of space and time with a nice large efficent turbo. Its 0-60 would suffer likely but it would be amazing. Now lets back that up and speculate about modifications... Pulley, Tune, Headers back, intake =??? BTW, I did NOT hear that supercharger AT ALL, which means a very restrictive intake. Expect to see crazy numbers from an intake alone on this thing. |

Re: ZR1 Nurburgring Video
Congratulations GM!
ZR1 is the fastest production car in the world. The fact that it makes it without semi-slick tires is simply unbelievable ... great job! How much it will cost in real world? |
