Re: Z/28 Back On?
LS7 and 300 lbs weight reduction! THAT WOULD IMPRESS ME. another supercharged 11sec camaro although grudgingly brag worthy is hardly a Z28. Z28s are about corner straighting and road racing prowess. a supercharged street bruising engine is NOT what a z28 is about. if they must one up ford on the horsepower front (as if every LSX engine doesn't do that on the regular with one hand behind it's back) drop a zo6 engine in it. then you have the high revving nature of a true road racer WITH the big power that knuckle draggers expect.
if i had MY way, it would be 400lbs lighter with no back seat , race seats only and lightened body pannels and sharper suspension, with a screaming 5Liter or smaller engine and some steep gears to help it wind up! or just sell a slighly softer version of the Camaro GS race car! thats a TRUE Z28 REINCARNATE IF THERE EVER WAS ONE! |

Re: Z/28 Back On?
They could always surprise us with the GEN V 5.5L SIDI V8 and leverage HSV's experience with the MRC active suspension system on Zeta.

Re: Z/28 Back On?
The ss is an appearance package from yesteryear.
The Z29 should be top dog. I am so tired of this argument! ![]() Let's see what Scott says. I have this rumor for too long to believe it. I will wait on Scott.

Re: Z/28 Back On?
You think up a lot of unfeasible ideas.

Re: Z/28 Back On?
4300lbs Camaro w00t!!
Understeer thats already pretty bad on the SS will be even more pronounced when the weight comes near a 60/40 split! What will be funny is when the CTS-V coupe weighs LESS then the Camaro...

Considering the V is already built in regular CTS form, that's a no brainer. As far as the Camaro, the powertrain is extensively validated and ready to go straight from the CTS-V which uses a very similar platform. So, very cheap to do either. That's what really matters to the Feds.
