Re: Volt Revealed!
I think this will appeal to a lot of people. It looks futuristic and modern without being completely ugly and disproportionate, like the Prius.

Re: Volt Revealed!
I have to say I am pleasantly surprised by this car. The exterior is fairly normal with some nice elements to differentiate it. The interior looks completely futuristic and cool. Definately has an apple ipod feel to it. Overall I think its a home run. Better looking than the prius or insight by far IMO.

Re: Volt Revealed!
Eh, concept was better. I guess it still makes a statement with the tech but just not the tech and style.
Interior is pretty badass though. This has to be releasing earlier.

Re: Volt Revealed!
Perhaps since the switch gear does not mechanically control a thing they decided to get it out of the way. I like it. You just need forward and reverse. There is no transmission in the typical fashion anyway.

Re: Volt Revealed!
Very nice, wonderful attention to detail on this car. I especially love the rectangular start button, as opposed to the standard round one most cars have.

Re: Volt Revealed!
So when can I sit in one? Seriously congrats GM and make it decently affordable please. I actually might replace my Grand Prix with this depending on a lot of factors and then get a fun toy for the weekends.
I absolutely love the styling. Drop dead gorgeous.

Re: Volt Revealed!
The headlights and general profile look alot like the latest gen civic. But thats good IMO since I find the civic to be the sportiest looking economy car in its price range (especially side profile).
One thing I don't like are the black moldings at the bottom of the car. Looks cheap, especially when the rest of the car is a different color. |

Re: Volt Revealed!
Overall the car is great, but a few things GM should think about before 2010.
I like the Ipod-like controls, but I'm not sure I like the bright white. If they could match the exterior colors it would be nice. I'm not sold on the big black plastic below the windows. I know its like the cool windows on the concept but it comes off as cheap. I rather see a "chopped" HHR like look. Can they make the rear deck a touch longer? I know this car was designed in a windtunnel but if they could just adjust the proportions around slightly it could look much better. But the engineers and designers have done a great job so far. Its great to think that this car will prove to the world that America can build a world-class, groundbreaking car that was designed and built here. ![]() |

Re: Volt Revealed!
I still love the concept, but this is definitely growing on me. I love the interior, but hope it is offered in other colors as well (I like tan interiors better); I'm sure they will.
Modify like the photoshop picture shown earlier with the lowered stance and more aggressive tire package, and it definitely looks more muscular. Good job, GM! |

Re: Volt Revealed!
Simply awesome! Loving the interior too. What is that material on the door panels? It almost looks like some clear plastic with some imprinting. Whatever it is, it looks different in a cool way, just like the center stack.
Hopefully our gov will get behind this car and offer some tax incentives to help on the price. GM has a potential hit on their hands. Bring on the test drives and trial run reports! This thing is a real game changer! I want one now! |
