Re: Volt Revealed!

go chevy go chevy go. go chevy go chevy go!

absolutely beautiful. SO what it doesnt look exactly like the production model. As ive said before, this is a car built with a purpose...to get decent miles on NO fuel. not to look like a mini corvette speedster. Even with its softer corners, its a hell of a lot better then that yoter

Re: Volt Revealed!

Electrostatic buttons all on the nav/hvac. Classy touch and probably a first in a car. Cool

GM you have finally lost my loyalty.
As others have said, good riddance. I don't think GM could have done a better job on this car. Almost no one was sold on the Volt for its styling anyways, the promise was a car that runs 40 miles on an electric charge, that eliminates our dependance on foreign oil, and doesn't have such a big impact on the enviornment (at least directly).

As far as the styling goes, I think this is actually waaay better than the concept. The most distinctive and best elements of the design were brought over and smoothed out on the very aerodynamic surface. The lighting on this car is incredibly beautiful, as is the interior. The materials and seating look to be top-notch as well. It's very nice to see that GM is using this opportunity to change the game in ICE as well. I love the new reconfigurable gauges.

Re: Volt Revealed!

I watched Rick Wagoner's speech on a live feed, and saw him introduce the Volt . . . then driven on stage by Bob Lutz.

The Volt looks amazingly good in that clip. Check it out if you haven't so far!

the auto show car was about as aero as a 4X8 sheet of plywood and that will not do when you are looking for best C of D to get the best mileage

Re: Volt Revealed!

How cool to finally see it from all angles....I think it looks great, including the illusion that the roof is glass. I like it much better than the cartoonish, non-aerodynamic concept that I felt tried to ape the upcoming Camaro. And I can just see Mr. Spock or Uhuru in that futuristic interior. I look forward to seeing one in real life and hope it OVER delivers and helps to lift up GM from the ashes.

Re: Volt Revealed!

This car will singlehandedly change the way the world sees General Motors. Maybe someday all the brain-dead, Koolaid-drinking American sheep will catch up and realize what a great company they have right here at home. Excellent job, GM!

Re: Volt Revealed!

This looks great! I can't wait to see it in person. I love the center stack. It's like nothing else on the road. IF GM can somehow keep the MSRP at $30K or less it will be an amazing hit. The designers will no doubt have a blast making variations for the rest of GM's divisions. I hope and pray there will be a Coupe and a Wagon in the future. The Egg Shaped Honda Insight and Toyota Prius have nothing on this car. From these Photos, I see no obvious compromises in the design. There is great attention to detail and the interior seems to be spacious and highly refined. I'm going to start saving up now. I'm spending about $60/week on gas now. I'd much rather spend that $240/Month on a monthly car payment. Get this car to market as quick as you can.

We should all write to congress and tell them we want the the Tax Credits for purchasing the Volt!

This will push Corolla and Civic into cheap rental cars category.

Can't believe it's GM.

Holy Frak! That is wicked cool. Love, love, love the interior. Pri-what? Honda In-what? Screw the Toyonda hybrids, this thing rocks. I really want one now. This is the Model T for the 21st Century.

What are you smoking? Are you old enough to have bought those cars/trucks? I hate to take a smack at anyone's intelligence or lack thereof, but I don't think you belong in this forum son!

I agree on the exterior. The concept was 1000x better, but I knew it would end up like a jelly bean podcar once they said they had to make it more aerodynamic. But they had to eek out the best fuel economy they could for this car, so I don't blame them. It's just not for me. It would be cool if they used the concept exterior for another car.

The interior is fantastic, but I don't buy cars for the interior.

It accomplishes what they set out. A flagship super fuel efficient vehicle that is better in every way than the Prius.
