Re: Volt Revealed!

I just looked at the pics again and this car actually makes my heart race a bit. I really like all the detailing on the exterior, its a very organic design yet exciting at the same time. The lights, front and back, look amazing. Hopefully they can do soemthing about the Malibu's rear end.
The Malibu's design was nice, I actually think the Traverse is very very good looking, so my hopes were so high for the next Cobalt.
Looking at what GM's designers are capable of reinforces my dismay with the design of the Cruze. Look at it again and you can see what a mess the Cruze is. Boring rear end, odd front end with hideous headlights. Besides the name change the exterior is the worst part of the car, IMO.
GM, you now have the design talent in NA to make great looking vehicles, let them design your small cars too, please.

B. I was hoping for 60 miles on battery. Hopefully that will be in the next increment, say 2012.
Anyhow, congrats for now GM. It looks good, especially considering cars like the Prius. 40 miles just won't work for a lot of people though.

Now, who can tell me how much it's going to cost to charge this thing every night???

Re: Volt Revealed!

I must say, this is fantastic looking. I am extremely impressed after those shots from last week. The interior is simply gorgeous, from the dash to the seats, to the display panel (formerly the instrument cluster).

Give me a Volt in Grey with a black dash panel, please!

From the press release:

GM said the Volt will cost about 80 cents to fully charge at a rate of 10 cents per kilowatt-hour, which is about the national average. After that, the batteries will be recharged by a small gasoline engine that allows the car to travel hundreds more miles. GM said the engine will be able to run on E85 ethanol, a blend of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline.

So, if you used E85 would you still need Sta-bil?

Re: Volt Revealed!

Volt, eh? Never heard of it. What is it, some kind of Prius?

Anyway, it doesn't have 7 seats. Way to blow it GM. You really dropped the ball on this one. Also, it's not the Firebird. Fail.

Wow, looks awesome! Now that it's been revealed it should be hitting dealerships in the next few weeks, right?

Months?

Years?

They built a "punishment car", exactly what they said they did not want to do. This is got to be GM's biggest let down. Worse then building the Aztek, worse then killing the Impalla & Fiero & Camaro. Just ridiculous. This is the car they were pinning all their hopes on. They used the angular looking VOLT in so many marketing pieces yet they knew long ago it would never look like that. GM you have finally lost my loyalty.

Buick Roadmaster,98 Trans Am ,06 GTO and GMC Sierra.

Does'nt seems like this is a car you would drive anyways.

Re: Volt Revealed!

a big Freakin' A! I love it, GM you have got a customer. Sure I like to save my money like the next guy, however driving by a Honduh or Toyoduh hybrid is going to be freakin priceless! I have already started saving my pennies!

I blogged on a "what if" scenario about a Volt SS a while back. You can read it here.

Re: Volt Revealed!

That car is hot. It's the best looking hybrid by far, and one of the best looking sedans period.

GM has finally leapfrogged the competition with that interior. No more catchup, GM is finally in the lead.
