Re: Production Camaro Aux Gauges Caught

I really like the retro look and it doesn't look like plastic either (well at least from outside the bag).

So happy they decided on tranny & oil temps. These are very useful and should be standard on every new car.

Re: Production Camaro Aux Gauges Caught

Good to see that the camaro will at least have more useful gauges than most cars. I hate dummy lights, you can never tell what the hell is going on with those. Plus they look great retro. GM is going to have a winner with this one.

Well lets discuss the topic at hand and not the what if's of something that you do not know the entire story on to begin with. Okay?

Great. Now if I can just get a "spy shot" of the tire jack and dome light, my day will be complete.

I agree!

Thanks for the gauge pictures, although we have seen them in pictures before this really means the car is coming to reality.

Don't get too excited ... most car gauges are "dumbed down" and don't really provide much useful information. If you've ever used a good set of aftermarket gauges you'll know what I mean.

The general public wouldn't know what to do with the information the gauges convey anyway, believing that a low oil pressure or voltage reading while idling is a sign of a serious problem.

Re: Production Camaro Aux Gauges Caught

A real blast from the past for me....they look so much like the originals. I love it. On 68's and 69's the cluster above the console also included a plastic "door" around the shifter that many owners just cut away because it interfered with quick shifting. Of course street racers never ordered the console with the gauges anyway.

That's true. I keep a tranny temp gauge in my truck for towing and it varies a lot more than I thought it would, much more than the engine temp gauge varies. I suppose dummy lights are good because most people are dummies when it comes to their car.

So what do manual cars get instead of the "Trans. Temp" gauge?
