Re: Only@GMI: Orlando Concept to be Produced

they really need to change the name... I mean, "The Orlando" seriously?

Re: Only@GMI: Orlando Concept to be Produced

re: "i hope they dont turn this into another CUV" ....well sorry to break it to you but do you know what a CUV is? It is essentially a minivan with a bit sleeker lines!

This product is awesome and desperately needed after the cancellation of the uplander. GM needs a people mover to replace it and the traverse (and other lambdas) do this well but are larger and more expensive. This will be the lower end and cheaper mpv. This also will help round out the production at hamtramk as it will be built on the delta along-side the volt! (notice the production start dates are the same!) The cruse will be built on the delta in lordstown...

I think the name will change to protect the sales.

I didn't like it when it came out about 5 years ago but it sure looks like many of the automaker recent crossover suvs have taken the look of the isuzu axiom.

So instead of one HHR - Chevy will split the segment with two crossover products.

Let's just hope that GM doesn't badge engineer these for other brands in North America (No underfunded/wasted Saturn version is needed, thank you!)
It would be a darned shame it they dumped the HHR, for two reasons: one, it's a great looking little car - and it's a plus that it taps into Chevy's history (remember: Hyundai, Toyota, et al. have no such history to draw on); and two, it'd be another manifestation of GM's ADD approach to branding. Build up a good name with the HHR, then . . . look, there's a squirrel! . . . come out with a whole new name and a whole new car, then wonder why no one's paying attention.

I really like the styling on that, inside and out! Hope GM makes it as close as possible, it would do so well.

Yeah just look at what happened to the scion xb when it got refreshed. Personally I think the interior is up to snuff but the exterior is too basic...but I guess this will be in the same vein as the ford flex and will be a flex and nissan versa competitor.

I agree, and yes I am a HHR SS owner. Although the interior looks nice, I prefer to shift my own gears and that shifter location looks awkward. I also think the HHR is a great sized vehicle I would prefer the next generation be the same size and lighter!. I know what a concept, the next generation of a car LIGHTER than the previous one.

I like it, I hope it has sliding rear doors like the Mazda does.

Or, HHR.
I rather it be called Venture or something else Chevy has made in the past that fits. Naming it Orlando is just too theme park for me..
