  • Stripes - heritage-inspired stripes are offered in RS style for the hood or "hockey stick" style side design
  • Engine covers - available in five colors for the V6 and V8 engines
  • Wheels - split-five-spoke 21-inch wheels are offered in black metallic and polished finishes
  • Performance parts - numerous performance-enhancing components, including a tuned air intake, cat-back exhaust system, a Hurst short-throw shifter as well as more traditional GM Performance Parts.

I'm guessing the 4-piece interior trim kit is a direct swap for the gray inserts that were orange on the concept (the hardtop anyway). They're the ones that wrap around from the door across the dash to the other door.
Just out of curiosity, where did you find this info?

I think what Ilovepontiac is worried about isn't 'emasculated', effeminate males in this generation, but rather the emasculated, effeminate males who rule automotive journalism (Car and Driver, Motor Trend, etc).
I already can see it:

It's going to happen. It happens every time GM brings a guy product to the showrooms. Why do you think the press like Car and Driver rated a girl's car like the Miata higher than the Pontiac Solstice? Because they're emasculated, effeminate women and old geezers at that magazine, that's why.
Throw in some rejects from Consumer Reports and you round out Car and Driver's editors.

How exactly did you "adjust" the 31 to 28?
Simple he allowed the EPA to adjust the numbers for him and they are on the EPA's site as well as the old numbers. It went from 31MPG highway to 28MPG highway.

Their loss.

Yes and yes.

It's the same reason the L76 in the G8 makes less power than the LS2 it's a variant of.

Who wants to be this will be a sales flop? Those stupid numbers on the window are the single most marketable aspect of any non luxury car right now. A lot of people won't even consider a Camaro when it gets 26 MPG at it's best.

Didn't the last Camaro get 28 MPG? Out of a pushrod? Nice progress GM.
Under the old EPA testing. Under the new testing it would be the same as the 2010 estimates.

Re: OFFICIAL 2010 CAMARO STATS & SPECS released! 300hp / 422hp!

The V6 looks impressive on paper but think about it. 3,700lbs+ and 300hp isn't going to smoke a Mustang GT, it's probably not going to smoke an LT1 car either.

The Camaro is similar in dimensions and weight to the current CTS and that car isn't running close to what Mustangs or 5.7 HEMI cars run.

I'm glad they didn't stuff a four cylinder in this thing because combined with it's heritage and it's size/weight it would be a recipe for failure of epic proportions.

The Camaro crowd is pissed enough that the SS weighs what it does and that they saddled it with cylinder deactivation. A four cylinder would have them up in arms as much as the GTO crowd was in 2003.

And to be fair the old 3.8L wasn't a high revving, high strung, huge horsepower engine like the 3.6L is nor was it lugging around that much weight either. With that impressive power figure for the new V6 comes an impressive thirst. The LNF turbo fours are the same story. Combined 20-23mpg out of a little 3,000lb roadster on premium isn't good.

I doubt that people concerned about fuel economy above all else would consider a Camaro at all. They would be shopping for an Aveo, or Yaris or Fit.

Considering its competition - Challenger, Mustang, Nissan 350Z - the Camaro offers an impressive level of power and efficiency for the money. I suspect that people shopping in this category are considering a reasonable level of fuel efficiency, along with style and performance.

Actually, an oil change on a Northstar Cadillac only ran me about 25 bucks... it holds about the same amount of oil.
