You're right. And aside from GM fans and rednecks (which overlap for the most part) no one is interested in this car. GM needs to start doing things to bring in NEW customers. I don't get why that's so difficult for people to understand.

Here, GM made plenty of these for you....

My Electrical Engineer brother in law (who is not a redneck, just a horsepower junkie) is very interested in the Camaro. Oh yeah, he owns a Cobra. And a Kia Optima and a Chrysler minivan... not a GM car in sight.

.. still reading it. But Brembos on the SS. Mmm, hmm.

300hp out of the 6? Tight. 422 hp out of the SS. Nice.

.. still reading ... I'l read more when I get home.

But this is my favorite line on the car. I love the rear end look on this thing.

This car is about heritage and nostalgia, not so much about attracting new customers to the fold. Sorry, but I agree with GM on this one. If they'd pussified it to attract the Camry Solara owners, you'd whine about that as well. The Camaro is what it is, love it or leave it. Sorry you're bitter there won't be a Firebird version. Nice to know you're omniscient though, and know what everyone thinks about this car.

i think you need to do some research before you start spouting off, i've had so many dodge and ford guys comming in already, asking if they can order one. so i dont think that it's just GM fans and rednecks. people know a nice car when they see one-and this one is beyond nice. just my two cents

Well I hope so. I hope this car sells well... but I really don't think it will.

Look at the G8. Probably the best Pontiac ever made (as far as performance and handling) but it doesn't matter. No one is interested.

Who wants to be this will be a sales flop? Those stupid numbers on the window are the single most marketable aspect of any non luxury car right now. A lot of people won't even consider a Camaro when it gets 26 MPG at it's best.

Didn't the last Camaro get 28 MPG? Out of a pushrod? Nice progress GM.
I thought tow rating was the most important spec for sports cars?

Nobody even knows about the G8, I didn't even realize it was at dealerships already until I saw one on the road a few weeks ago.

Pathetic marketing.

Re: OFFICIAL 2010 CAMARO STATS & SPECS released! 300hp / 422hp!

I think people here are forgeting about other attributions that make up a car.

I'm surprised to see this thing is going to have variable ratio steering, a nice feature imo.

And what do they mean by "fully adjustable camber, caster, and toe"?

Never heard of that before.

Re: OFFICIAL 2010 CAMARO STATS & SPECS released! 300hp / 422hp!

I see a HUD!!!! Could it be they included that often overlooked feature! To me that's something the G8 should really have and I'm glad that just maybe the Camaro is getting that feature!

And if you want 500 MPG, go buy something else. This is not intended to be a commuter car. If you want a basic transportation appliance, look elsewhere like an Aveo or a Cobalt XFE!

The G8 is lacking a lot of features that people buying a large family sedan want - memory seats, nav system, etc. And GM needs to advertise it more.

Yeah, I think I might replace the GTO with one of these.

SS manual, no cylinder deactivation bull**** in all of it's gas-guzzling, tire-smoking, driving sideways, redwhiteandblue American glory.

Re: OFFICIAL 2010 CAMARO STATS & SPECS released! 300hp / 422hp!

I can't wait for more pictures and details. I'm a little concerned because we haven't seen a model yet that has the hood slit for the air intake. Even though this is supposed to be non-functional I guess, I thought it looked badass. Why haven't we seen one with it yet?

I am a little disappointed with the weight, esp. considering the model I will likely buy (SS automatic) weighs over 3900 lbs. Yike.

My 94 Z28 gets 15city/22 highway (my driving). On a good day, I've been able to get 27mpg highway. I feed it premium too. Luckily, I'm used to doing this, so that 23 mpg highway figure isn't stopping me.

Great color selection too! This thing is probably going to cost me a mint with all those dealer accessories available. Where do I sign??????

I can't wait to get mine! Who cares about gas, so I will pay an extra $1k a year, like I care.

Wow! 7.6 quarts of oil for the V6 and 8.9 quarts for the V8. That's going to be an expensive oil change!
