Fueleconomy.gov has a calculator to estimate what old cars would get under the new rating system. You can't tell now, but it was very accurate at predicting the 2008 figures before they were actually tested.

Re: OFFICIAL 2010 CAMARO STATS & SPECS released! 300hp / 422hp!

Weight is...

V6:

LT:
3750 (A)
3741 (M)

LS:
3769 (A)
3780 (M)

V8 (SS):
3913 (A)
3860 (M)

I really like the Camaro, and considering my daily driver, I'm their target market. I very much want to fall for this car, but at nearly 3,900 lbs. for a V8 manual, I just can't. I'm close enough to that point where a test drive could put me over the edge, but right now I'd rather have something lighter. For a negligible weight gain over the Camaro I could get a G8 with a much more usable back seat and trunk. While the Pontiac is not nearly as sporty of a looker as the Camaro, it's also more of a sleeper. It's really a shame about the weight, but I have hopes that with the gas prices downsizing everything nowdays, maybe the gen 6 F-body will go on a diet. Let's just hope it doesn't take 8 years between generations.

Re: new camaro specs on chevy website

If you're curious, here are the MPG's in 2008 standards for every year of the 4th gen V8 (no V6):

1993:
_15/22(A)
_15/23(M)
1994-7:
_15/23(A)
_15/24(M)
-----
1998:
_16/22(A)
_16/24(M)
1999:
_16/22(A)
_17/26(M)
2000:
_15/23(A)
_16/25(M)
2001-2:
_16/23(A)
_17/25(M)

i know that it seems like alot, but take a drive in the G8 GT, 3900 lbs in a four door sedan- and that thing moves. adding 60 hp and a manual, it hinks that it'll doo just fine. keep in mind that the corvette is still just about 3300 lbs.

2010 Camaro - Live Shots

Here she is, kiddies.

Looks great. I like the interior better at night though - when you CAN'T see the panel gaps.

This would be the official main page GM gives you at the end of the unveiling:

http://www.chevrolet.com/camaro/

also there's a cool "Camaro start-up sequence" design video here:

442 HORSEPOWER AND SOMEONE IS COMPLAINING ABOUT GAS MILEAGE

23 mpg...hell, the Malibu only gets 26mpg and a 252 horsepower engine.

This car makes 442 HORSES. That's a more efficient use of power!!!

Seriously, how dare anyone complain about 23 mpg in a car that can outrun some planes.

Re: OFFICIAL 2010 CAMARO STATS & SPECS released! 300hp / 422hp!

I don't even have a mullet and I love this car. Sex on wheels...seriously. Now I have to trouble the girlfriend for a little action when she returns from work or take a cold shower. I guess I can look at pictures of a Hyundai Genesis to calm myself down.

To hell with the Cruze SS....this is my next car.

That's because factory numbers on hp and torque are always optimistic. But, as for GM and thier performance cars they are usually head on. This isn't Nissan we are talking about(GT-R).

If you're concerned with fuel economy, perhaps a hi-performance pony car isn't what you should be looking for. May I recommend a Prius Sport?

Did you notice the rear Chevy Bowtie being illuminated ? This would be a nice feature but I think it´s only animation. Otherwise the interior illumination is really cool.

Re: OFFICIAL 2010 CAMARO STATS & SPECS released! 300hp / 422hp!

Considering the Challenger is rated 13C/18H and the Mustang is 15C/23H for the 4.6L/5spM...I can deal with a better looking and most likely better handling Camaro that is rated higher than or equal to the competition in fuel economy.

Apparently some people think this is the next gen Aveo and not a musclecar, sad.
