Re: Nice Malibu Hybrid ad!

That Hummer one is pretty fun to watch:

http://www.josephkosinski.com/projects/movs/hummer.html

A number of the other ads have various CGI modern architecture that's neat to look at. The way most of them work with minimalist music is much less abrasive than the way so many commercials SCREAM at you to buy their product. There's definitely a lot of talent there, and a level of advertising that's heads above the average dreck.

I know, but I refuse to have QuickTime on my systems. QuickTime does not respect user configuration (it keeps putting itself in the StartUp group).

Re: Nice Malibu Hybrid ad!

Oh wow. I remember the Saab Aero X ad and how we all loved that one. I'm glad GM actually used this guy and made some great commercials. I remember seeing the hybrid one during the Olympics.

What fantastic ads - they have an emotional appeal, something I think automotive advertising has been lacking. Very very nice!

I'm sorry but GM's marketing over the past ten years has just been ABSYMAL. Let's start with the crappy press shots that every automagazine and blog uses that manages to make the CTS look less than impressive and work to television where the only thing I've seen with less inspiration is the VideoProfessor commercial.

Wait. I don't get it. You're saying that GM hasn't aired ad like this or ANOTHER ad like this for another car?
If you're wondering why GM hasn't aired another ad like this for other vehicles/brands is because the Malibu was given a huge amount of ad dollars to promote it since this is one of the most important high-volume vehicles in the past 10 years for GM.

If you were saying why GM hasn't aired an ad like this in general, um.. you're looking at one that aired right after the Men's Olympic relay at the Olympics where the US team upset France.

I didn't see it air on the Olympics. If it did. Good for GM finally putting some halfway decent commercials on the air. And yes, I do know that the marketing budget for the Malibu compares to the amount used to launch the Silverado, and pales any other sedan launch in recent memory. My complaint has been, and its been consistent, that GM's marketing has been abysmal over the past decade.

A good Pole, like always!

Finally somebody who can actually take a picture at GM. They always hire moron photographers who try to screw their reptuation both on purpose and through their own incompetence.

Any links that aren't using QuickTime? I refuse to install QuickTime because it always annoys me with updates and iTunes.
