The center stack looks concept car like. I see touch screens all the time in concept cars in place of more traditional controls, but this is the first time I've seen it in a production automobile.

There is a lot of "knee bone connected to thigh bone" logic going on here... but it goes like this...

The 9C1 police use only car comes here in 2011... its a hit... GM admits that it was wrong to kill the Zeta... in 2012 a civilian car is announced... Anyone else notice the little tidbit appended to Edmunds' Inside Line post?

"Inside Line says: Prospective customers who don't happen to own a badge — that includes all you former Pontiac owners — can order the "undercover" street-appearance package. Just check the box that says 9C3."

Anyone work in fleet sales? Would it be technically allowable for a civilian to purchase this package? Inquiring minds want to know.

Its a RWD full size Chevy that has 4 doors, some of us would love to get a hold of one !

Not possible they are only selling police cars. A market of about 70,000 cars.

Maybe for exactly that reason... he wants to get a hold of one... and GM is saying "no soup for you"

So the only way I can get one is to wait for the government surplus auction 4 or 5 years from now and get one with 200k miles on it?

I'm really surprised how much it looks like the current Impala from the rear.

One thing I do not like is using the name "Caprice" on a cop car. I didn like it when they did it in the '80s and '90s either. Caprice was supposed to be top of the line luxury for Chevrolet when the Caprice name was first used as a trim level in "65 and as its own separate Model in 1966.
