So this Spark is the 4th Spark built then?

The Volt looks great! I wish the Cruze had a rear end like that instead of the overly generic Kia-esque deal it has.

I was wondering, because I think the Spark's plate says 2012-18. No month or quarter corresponds to 18, but if it is just indicating it is #18 of a pre-production fleet that makes sense.

It looks good in these new pics.
Supposedly the next Aveo is a bigger version of this. Optimism reigns...

If you are buying a car based on trunk size then you need your head probed! The trunk is a place to put things from time to time! If you need that kind of room then you need a bigger car or truck for that matter!

This is like the lady I spoke to that said she bought the car cuz it had plent of cup holders!

It really has to make you laugh how people go about buying a car!

Whats wrong with the lights? Then one thing you have to understand with a small car is that you only have so much area to make the buyer notice the car, a bigger car has more to look at and there for you dont need big lights like those but if you dont have as much area to work with you need something to make a statment, and those lights make a big statment!

Sorry to burst your bubble but its going to sell very well!

People buy cars for other reasons than you do. It's as simple as that. To many/most people, a car is an appliance. If everyone shopped for the same thing in cars, there would be nothing but high powered Chevelles and GTO's on the road... Or just the opposite: A world of only Camrys and Accords.

The biggest complaint we heard about the Astra at our store regarded the number and placement of the cupholders. It does effect people's buying decisions. We also sold dozens of IONs on the notion that it had a larger trunk than any other compact car(at the time). This is perceived value to the customer. When all other things are apparently equal, it's the small things that sway people one way or another. All too often over the past two decades, it was the GM offerings that were lacking some of the things you would consider small, but they do sway buyers' decisions. GM must pay attention to trunk size, cupholders and other "small" things as much as they do to fuel economy and horsepower.

On just the Malibu/Aura/G6 alone, here are a few things that turn people off these cars:
1. Lack of dual climate control
2. Lack of DVD Navigation
3. Lack of an armrest in the back seat
4. Lack of a center mounted rear headrest
5. The cars have a deep trunk, but the opening is narrow

I've lost sales on every one of these items. All other things being equal, people will go buy a competing car like an Accord instead of the Malibu because the Honda may offer that one "small" item that's lacking in the Chevrolet.

If I had to list the best players ever the top five would be:
  1. Bobby Orr
  2. Mario Lemieux
  3. Wayne Gretzky
  4. Maurice "Rocket" Richard
  5. Terry Sawchuk

What? No Howe in the top 5? Nope. Howe played a thousand years and wasn't that impressive on the ice. And Lemieux above Gretzky? Oh, yeah. Gretzky had a great team around him for most of his career, Lemieux didn't. And look what Lemieux did. And he was seriously ill half the time. Imagine if he was healthy and/or on a decent team. He'd have buried all the records.

I do think having a Bobby Orr variant of the Camaro would be cool. He's been associated with GM for years, at least since the 90s. It would be a fitting tribute. Maybe the soft top, what with him playing hockey before they tended to wear helmets :-). Maybe a Bobby Orr Z/28 convertible edition.

As I said, they've had Bobby Orr doing Chevrolet commercials for years up here. Many with a hockey theme. I've always found them well done and quite tasteful.

One question. Why "04 2010" as the license plate? Is that a sly hint that it's due out April 2010 and not "late 2010" as has been indicated for quite a while now? Seems odd to have "04 2010". And don't say it's for Bobby's number, because his number was 4 not 04.
Literally the first image I remember of television is my older brother's watching a Bruin's hockey game on channel 38 WSBK in Boston, MA. We picked up several Massachusetts stations in Rhode Island with our mighty UHF antenna back then. Being born in 1970 I only know of Orr's career from my brother's stories of his greatness.

I experience the same thing as you DAILY! My biggest headache is the customer who was just next door at the Chrysler dealer:

"Does your SV6 have STO-N-GO seats?"
"Does the Vibe have a chilled glove box?"
"Can I take the HHR's dome light and use it as a flashlight"
"In the Acadia, can I warm a pizza under one seat while chilling my beer in the other?"

There really isnt an option to combat these 'gimmicks', but, it is proof that 'smoke and mirrors' does actually sell products.

(While we are on the topic of Chrysler products, Caliber = Cobalt and not a Vibe and Journey = Equinox not Acadia! Man, I hate how Chysler markets their products to non-existent 'in-between' catergories.

"How come the Traverse is like $20k more than a Journey?"
"Of course the Journey is cheaper than the Traverse...it slots in a class BELOW the Traverse."
"But its got seven seats like a Traverse?"
"Yes, but the Journey is basically a 5-passenger Equinox-type vehicle that they stuck two pizza boxes in the cargo area of and called them seats. Do you really want your children (cause adults cant fit back there) to have their heads up against the rear window if there was a rear end accident???"
"Hmmmm.......but does the Traverse have 'Chill-Zone' in the glovebox?"

 x 10000)

Knowing the competition always helps. Don't forget to ask the customer why they would want a Journey when they do not come with heated seats in any trim.

R/T's come with heated seats if you equip them with leather (at least here in Canada)

Damn you are right. I found it on the website. I maxed one out to compare it to my wife's Freestyle and the Lambdas and could not find heated seats.

I think it competes with Highlander more so than the Lambdas. She finds the styling more attractive than the Flex but is very wary of Chrysler's reliability.

Anyway when you have lousy interiors and non-classing leading powertrains, gimmicks are almost all you have to compete with.

Then they find out later on that particular Chrysler dealer likes to bend customers over when they come in for service...even worse than you guys!

Really though. I hate Windsor Chrysler! And so do many others.

And so should YOU!
