I think I spot a Lambda product in one of the pics....as well as a Chevy Aveo.

That would indicate that it's being tested here, which would indicate it being for our market. Besides, it's a sedan...so it has to be for our market.

I'm certain that it's the new Cobalt...pretty late in the development process, too. Maybe they'll reveal it this autoshow season and put it on sale about the same time the new LaCrosse goes on sale.

I think it's kind of bland.

It was all made to allow for a "coupe" roofline while at the same time providing some rear headroom (unlike in the Opel Insignia, which had this feature cancelled). I wonder why automakers compromise their designs so much rather than resurrect the formal roofline. The first one who does that will have a winner on their hands.
You've got that right! One of the things I always check out is rear seat head room. It is surprising how well/bad cars fair regardless of class (though I'll admit that not many people will have 6'6" rear seat passengers)
The good ones (for head room only): Astra, Epica, Commodore (as you would expect), Ford Focus Hatch/sedan and the Vectra C Sedan.
The bad ones: Mondeo, Mitsubishi Galant/380, Mazda 6 Hatch, Vectra C hatch.
If you consider what is amounting to a major shift to mid size/small car purchasing, you would think that there would be a stronger focus on interior packaging. Then again, the worlds major growth markets are hardly well known for their tall stature. That may change however, as they shift to higher consumption of steriod infested, hi carb western fast food.

Version 2 (slimmer grill)

*If the grill is like the one on the Beat, a slimmer grill might require a different hood from the Daewoo version.

Skoda did with the new Superb. Boo GM - for letting the homely Skoda do it!
