Yes, I thought the same thing, particularly in the grille.

I agree with you, Paul...the first thing I thought of when I saw the C-pillar was "Sebring" - and that's not a good vehicle's styling to mimic!

Not bad in my opinion, looks better than the Epica. I see this as a solid value compact car that also isnt painful to look at.

Re: New Chevy "Nubira" Spy Pics

I am definitely liking the look of this for the small car segment. I'd say it looks like a promising incarnation of 'if you can't beat'em, join'em' which GM has already started doing, with the Cobalt, but definitely needs to continue doing in the small car segment, as far as what they are offering.

Otherwise, I really like the quote... 'GM will be consolidating nameplates and styling for their new vehicles moving forward.' This world-market utilization of designs/resources is what other (foreign) manufacturers have been doing for years, and with GM doing this recently, has resulted in some really great looking and great quality offerings for the consumer!

There are other possibilies as well; some confirmed, some implied:

A new G5: IF and WHEN it makes it to market, it will only be a placeholder as Pontiac moves toward RWD. Otherwise, I don't expect to see Pontiac making much use of this platform.
Buick Skylark: It is slated to be sold in America and supplant the Buick Excelle in China. We know that the Skylark will replace the Excelle from an Edumund's InsideLine Story and it was more than implied it would make it to North America as well.
Saab 9-1: This is the vehicle that will create added volume for the Saab brand and give GM a legitamite competitor to vehicles like the A3, 1-Series, C30, et al.
Next Chevy HHR: When the Cobalt is replaced, it will obviously mean either the HHR will need to be replaced eventually or phased out. The recent popularity of the HHR and of "crossovers" in general will probably mean a 2nd generation of HHR will be making it to market.
The Chevy Volt: GM's wunder-car is supposed to be built on the Delta II platform; another important product riding on this architecture.

Article: HERE
Some very nice potential offerings, both from the mainstream areas as well as the more 'niche' and luxury offerings stated above. If GM delivers on all of these (with 110% efforts, of course), I'd be VERY impressed with their small car offerings in the coming years,... not to mention their potential for 'higher' fuel economy cars in these market areas.

Thanks HEVguy. I think it would be impressive as well, especially pushing into new segments for some brands like the Buick Skylark and Saab 9-1.

After I read your commentes I remembered that the Rezzo/Tacuma and the Zafira should have also been included in the list --- I went back and added them to my original post.

I hate to say this, but Toyota has had the Corolla since the 70's, and I hate to think Toyota has nestalgia. I think Chevy is wise to keep the Impala name around, but it's unfortunate it wasn't around for a few model years (between 97? and 2000)

Anyway, this spy photo looks good, the car is nice looking, if it makes it to the US.
Nobody looks on Cavalier and Corolla with nostalgia. Unless they lost their virginity inside one...

Re: New Chevy "Nubira" Spy Pics

Another car website had a few pics from August of the car testing in Colorado. I don't know why we never saw them on GMI (or at least I never saw them on GMI).

Regardless, its further exterior shots and one semi-interior shot.

Just what I thought it looks like a small Vectra.....this might be the Astra sedan maybe.
The side lines and the front grill look like the Vectra spy shots.

Re: New Chevy "Nubira" Spy Pics

Not too bad from what I can tell, though it does remind me of the current Civic.

I think they should keep the Cobalt name. The Cobalt name actually has some street credit with young people - which is important.
