Here is General Motors CEO Mary Barra’s New 2015 Corvette Z06 Convertible Corvette Blogger

It’s not every day that the Bowling Green Assembly Plant receives an order to make a car for the company CEO, but this week the workers from UAW Local 2164 assembled a 2015 Black Corvette Z06 Convertible that will be shipped to GM’s headquarters in Detroit for General Motors Chief Executive Officer Mary Barra.
Mary’s new Corvette is both a 650-horsepower performance machine and yet a nice boulevard cruiser as well. That’s because the Convertible is outfitted with both the Z07 Performance Package and the new 8-speed automatic transmission. The Black Z06 Convertible has a black top, black aluminum wheels and the only splash of color comes from the yellow Brembo brake calipers.
The Chief’s Corvette Z06 also comes equipped with the Stage 1 aerodynamics package based on the rear spoiler. The front spoiler is part of the Dealer PDI and so that will be installed when the car gets to Detroit.
Why the sarcasm? A dose of the green-eyed monster, I think. Would be a travesty if, as CEO, she was forced to car pool or drive around in a base Spark or something. Too right that she should have a custom vehicle from the top of the GM range. Having said that, if she chose a Spark as her day-to-day wheels, why not?
Interesting since she is on record saying Camaro is her favorite car. Of course that won't be out for a while. Wouldn't do to have her riding the bus while she waits. LOL
Hope she can handle the power on this black beauty.....safely!
Nice! Great to see the CEO in something interesting! Yesterday morning there was a yellow Z06 C7 on the highway, stunning car!
Also good to see that GM is finally putting out CEO-worthy vehicles - CT6, CTS, Escalade, Vette, etc. I say that because 10 years ago what Cadillac put out wasn't world class product, therefore not my expectation for a CEO to step out of. Cadillac should give CT6's to high profile CEO's, it would be good marketing to see Bill Gates, Jack Welch types stepping out of it.
Considering all the effort GM was going through to give her a more favorable image I am a little surprised she went with black. Not saying I have a problem with it, but Black is a bit sinister. Maybe it's in tribute to Henry Ford.
The only thing better than Black IMHO, would be a Red Vette with white interior. But she's CEO, get what you want! I'd rather have a boss willing to drive the most powerful car we make than one that only tools around in a Caddy XTS with its own driver.
Well for instance, Mary has been trained in both high performance and threat avoidance driving techniques by GM's finest...why would they bother if she's not allowed to drive? Of course a busy exec like her would normally be working during the daily commute while someone else does the driving...but even execs get an occasional day off to cut loose.
Ms. Barra's current corporate vehicle, for her everyday use in Detroit is a chauffeur driven Cadillac Escalade. The Corvette ZO6 is for her own personal use. Chauffeur driven Cadillac XTS's and Escalade's are made available to all corporate board members, senior officials and division heads should they so desire.
Their security staff use Chevrolet Suburbans....
