Also, for having the least power and torque, the Challenger's engine had a pretty nice exhaust note.
That just means that the challangers suck! You can make any thing sound good if you look at it in your way!

I thought it looked great!

I love the looks of the Camaro. Never have liked the recent generations of Mustang. It's mostly the back half of the car that is disturbing to me.

And here is the dyno sheet... impressive low-end torque.

Now you're seeing the benefits of that chassis, and that independant rear suspension - the capability is why it weighs what it does and behaves how it does. This blows the bullhockey about the Mustang live axle being 'better' right out of the water. Not only does the better weight distribution and suspension control beat it in a straight line with no muss, no fuss, but wipes the floor with it in corners.

It shows it is very early days for Camaro development, if a first-up tuner effort can demolish Ford's premium rocketship so easily. All it needs is some fettling. The bullding blocks are well and truly there.

Exciting to say the least. As I was looking at the pictures of the three new-age muscle cars on MT.com, I realized how spoiled we have become since I started reading GMi. Back then, the Camaro was only a rumor, now here it is destroying the Mustang again in real-life.

I hope the V8 lives long enough to see GM tweak this platform to its full potential in stock form, and MORE PRODUCTS IN NA!!

Has anyone really stated that the Ford SLA on the Mustang was better then the IRS on the Camaro?

Love the looks of the Camaro. I wish I could have one now. Makes my midsize japanese fwd coupe look like a sissy.

I was very impressed with that Dodge Challenger I must say, I loved the way it sounded and it actually ran a faster lap time then the GT500 super snake was able to pull off......

Oh yes, just ask one GMI-resident Mustang expert. "Just wait until we have 400hp!'. The 2011 Mustang is going to 'run and hide from the Camaro'.

His words.

What a dumbass philosophy. So does this mean the Camaro "sucks" too since there are faster, better handling Corvettes? The as-tested price of this Hennessey Camaro was $74,672. You can get a Corvette Z06 that's quicker and a better handler for that kind of money.

While it is cool that the camaro did so well in this test, I wouldn't be so happy about it consider who the tuner for the camaro is. Not exactly the most respectable tuner.

The Camaro would look way better IMO if the body kit wasn't that ugly grey, totally doesn't match the body color. And anyone else disappointed about the Challenger being a slushbox? Otherwise I'd have a hard time deciding between the two.

while yes this is true.....

People are more excited because this is showing how much ability is in the Camaro platform and the fact that it wasn't really tuned to be such a track car and more of a cruiser and street bruiser.

The fact that things have turned out the way they have is not because one car is better then the other but simply because they tuned the cars differently.

That Mustang just looks too disjointed. The Camaro looks great with that body kit. I just like the two-tone appearance.
That red color on the Challenger is amazing. Black rims look great on any car.
It seemed like the Challenger did have the best sound of them all.
Are there any other (better?) tuners of Challengers/Chargers?
