Good comparo. Too bad they didn't have better tires on the Mustang and Speed Factory couldn't bring their top gun.

It's not like Hennessey had their "top gun" either.

Re: Hennessey Camaro HPE650 vs SpeedFactory Challenger SRT8 vs Shelby GT500 Super Sna
That was what they brought, or at least that what it was supposed to be. The "top gun" is supposed to be a 1000 HP car, maybe that would have been closer to 700.....

The 700 hp one kept dying. It was replaced by a 572 hp one I believe.

Tuners like this aren't normally something I like to put into "News," but, like the original post, a fun read and a good article.

The Hennessey Camaro is faster and stops quicker than the Shelby Super Snake and you save $10K, sounds like another resounding bowtie victory!

Careful now, I was trying not to piss off the Ford apologists lurking around GMI. Oh well screw it, Fords suck!

Re: Hennessey Camaro HPE650 vs SpeedFactory Challenger SRT8 vs Shelby GT500 Super Sna
From what I have seen in reviews, that is a first. I've seen better numbers for the Snake. Maybe the tire were tired from previous test? If not, at that price is should come with better tires. I'm glad the Camaro won, because it gets old seeing these tuned Camaros that seem to forget it's not all about the dragstrip...

Re: Hennessey Camaro HPE650 vs SpeedFactory Challenger SRT8 vs Shelby GT500 Super Sna
I don't know what it is about the Camaro, but pictures do it no justice...when you see it in person its looks blow your socks off...but photos leave something to be desired.
I like the colour on the Mustang... but I guess there has to be something about it thats appealing. As for the Challenger... why do they even bother... just park it and give it 3rd place because it showed up...same results without the effort. ![]()

This is just another example of how the bowtie can win on every level! GM has never had a problem with making hp!

Re: Hennessey Camaro HPE650 vs SpeedFactory Challenger SRT8 vs Shelby GT500 Super Sna
I've gotta say, in spite coming in third, the Challenger's performance was a pleasant surprise. Over 150 less horsepower and lb-ft of torque and over 300 lbs heavier than either of its competitors and yet it posted a 0-60 MPH time of 4.1 seconds, a quarter mile of 12.5 seconds, and a track time less than three seconds behind the Camaro. Also, for having the least power and torque, the Challenger's engine had a pretty nice exhaust note.
