Hendrick Motorsport and Yenko Camaro for SEMA
Callaway building Hendrick Motorsports 25th Anniv. 2010 Camaro SS
We've already added plenty of Camaros to our must-see list at SEMA, including variations from Hurst, Lingenfelter, and Yenko. Now we can add one more to our schedule -- this Callaway-built Camaro commissioned by Hendrick Motorsports for their 25th anniversary. An appropriate production run of 25 is planned after the show, with each car commanding a $76,181 price tag. http://www.autoblog.com/2009/10/29/c...2010-camaro-s/ Officially Rendered: 2010 Yenko Camaro Remember when we said that the Yenko brand would be revived with new models based on the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro? Well, we won't have long to wait to see the real thing. General Marketing Capital Incorporated (GMCI), the proud new owners of the legendary Yenko name and brand, have announced they will debut the first prototype of the 2010 Yenko Camaro at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas next week. Using the V8-powered SS as a base, the "Phase I" Yenko Camaro will feature a supercharger to boost horsepower to 600, a Hurst short-throw shifter, larger brakes and Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system, not to mention the various Yenko badges affixed to the wheels, seats, sill plates, floor mats, etc. GMCI promises that a Phase II and III will follow, and just like Don Yenko took advantage of the COPO program to order Camaros with the 427ci engine, we hope that GMCI will make use of GM Performance parts and swap out the LS3 for an engine of proper displacement befitting a Yenko Super Car. Can you say LS7? Hit the jump for full details. http://www.autoblog.com/2009/10/29/o...-yenko-camaro/

This car is being built right next door to us so I'm hoping to get a ride before it leaves to SEMA. I'll see if I can get a few pics and post them.

Re: Hendrick Motorsport and Yenko Camaro for SEMA
Its too bad the general public can't attend SEMA. This show sounds like a good one. Now that I live close to Las Vegas I'm closer yet I'm still so far.

Re: Officially Rendered: 2010 Yenko Camaro
Shelby??? The Camaro is light years ahead of the mustang, this is demeaning to the Yenko Camaro to even compare it to a mustang.

Re: Officially Rendered: 2010 Yenko Camaro
light years? lol idk bout that. The Stang does a pretty good job holding its own. Should be right on with the Camaro next year with its new powertrain.

Re: Hendrick Motorsport and Yenko Camaro for SEMA
The only Yenkos I liked were the Corvair Stingers which were mostly road-raced with considerable success. The SEMA Yenko needs to be much more than just an engine swap. It will get my attention if it loses significant weight along with a modest power increase. Roger Penske and/or Rick Hendrick should prepare versions of the Camaro along the same vane as what Carrol Shelby did with the Mustang 44 years ago.

Re: Hendrick Motorsport and Yenko Camaro for SEMA
I love the Camaro, but not for $76k. I know it's a very limited run, and this is not as egregious as, say, as $50k live-axle Mustang, but that same $76k buys a Z06, or even a loaded CTS-V. I know they're not similar cars, but the money spends the same.

Re: Hendrick Motorsport and Yenko Camaro for SEMA
Gotta love that Yenko! I'm not so sure about that Hendrick car.... the wheel choice is really poor IMHO, but the hood is awesome.
