Ummm, is $30 supposed to be a lot? Because when I had my Grand Prix, up here in Canada, I would spend about $65-70. Our gas costs about $1.20 a litre, which is about 80 while the prices south are about 80 cents a litre.

Cool to see this finally coming out. GM is a bit farther ahead with E-Flex then they're letting on...

Awesome! I'm glad they don't already have the true Volt body on the road yet. Cammo or not, leaves some to the imagination!

Thank goodness, I can wait a few months before I have to explain to people that "those are not the production headlights"

But I am getting ready....

You're complaining?? My fillups run me $60-70 and I still think it's gonna get alot worse by summer.

no joke, I put in $20 and didn't even hit a third of a tank!
I may be getting a scooter, the Eldo sucks the fuel down faster than a bum on a ham sandwich!

Chevy still makes the old bodystyle as the Classic for Fleet buyers only. It's actually a pretty nice package and my favorite rental car these days - peppy V-6 with the 221 hp VVT V-6, good gas mileage, huge trunk, seats 4 full size adults, and has a power height adjustable driver seat standard.

90% of the great new Malibu was in the old car - it's not some old design, it just had some incomplete engineering that was frustrating to owners and bland styling. It was and is a good value car that will run forever for cheap (oil changes every 6-8K, tires every 50K, and brakes every 45K).

Having seen a parade of super efficient concepts that never came to fruition (as early as 1991 Chevy had a 'concept' version of a Corsica that got 70mpg) I was skeptical.

Let's hope Chevy proves me wrong.

Not just regular production that didn't sell, but there's always a variety of pilot build cars (very early builds in a model run that they flog and test), prototypes, etc. They use these "spares" to hack up and test a variety of things in, as any manufacturer.

Case in point, the '04/05 blue Malibu was likely a well used tester for the stock car as it was, and being the right size, eureka "we'll chop that one up".
