Re: GM takes off camo of Camaro

I can't wait, vents or no I'll have one of these! It looks more and more like the concept. The interior isn't finished cooking, kinda like looking at a cake before it's fully risen. Relax, you don't think Bob Lutz, Ed Welborne, Ed Peper and Rick Wagoner are going to let this car come back and be half baked do you? Do you? Well, I don't and I'm stoked!

I like what I'm seeing, and it is looking like it is going to be better looking than the next Mustang.

Haha, no one saw this coming. I think it's a great idea; there will be lots of spy shots showing the car uncloaked. Free advertising!

Re: GM takes off camo of Camaro

GM is trying to make sure the interest in the camaro stays till the car comes out. with this new CAFE stuff i bet GM wishes they had not spent the money to develop the camaro because it may turn out to be a slow seller with the high price of gasoline.

Looks fantastic in white. I think white is going to be my first choice for the color.

Re: GM takes off camo of Camaro

I's funny that when the interior was a concept there was pretty much universal praise for it. Now that we see that interior with airbags and such added, the complaints begin. Methinks that if GM created a magical sports car with 1.4 0-60, t-tops, 57 mpg, and a beer tap most of you would still be mad. Give it a rest. Until it hits the autoshows it's all irrelevant.

and BTW I've been waiting on the server on and off all afternoon. That's crazy too.

Me thinks:

1. It's a GM vehicle, so that automatically puts it on the bad side of import lovers.

2. It's a Camaro so that automatically puts it on the bad side of Mustang lovers.

The interior photos give them something to latch onto and complain about. I bet no matter what the interior looked like, a lot of people would be complaining.

Re: GM takes off camo of Camaro

I was looking for the gas tank fill cap on the driver side rear fender but I can't see it! Has this photo been photo shopped at GM before release? did they erase the gas tank fill cap?

Does this car have a sun roof??? It sure looks like it.

Door handles look chunky. It would be nice to have them flush with the car body.

Body colored rear view mirror looks good.

Overall, you couldn't ask for a better facsimile of the concept than this. I bet it looks bad as hell in black, with tinted windows.

Re: GM takes off camo of Camaro

The Pontiac G8's are coming to the USA w/o a manual transmission for the first year of production (for the V8's)

Is GM building inventory of the 6speed manual for the Camaro? It seems that the 6 Speed is always in tight supply (even with the GTO). And I think it's still an OPTION on the Corvette.

If GM can sell 100,000 Camaro's in 2009 calendar year, likely most of them (70%) will be V8's and let's say 50% of those will be manual....that's 35,000 6speed transmissions.

Just a thought.
