GM successfully casts green tint in powerful performance of Chevy Tahoe Hybrid SUV

I like this article...

"Not alone, of course; crazy-high gas prices are just playing with the band of conspirators. The real Brutus in this murder mystery is the consumer. The consumer turned his back on big brawny trucks and sport utility vehicles faster than a bleeding Caesar could blurt out "Et tu?"

Re: GM successfully casts green tint in powerful performance of Chevy Tahoe Hybrid SU

I havn't seen any Tahoe Hybrids around my home town... but im suprised with how many normal Tahoes/Yukons I see on the roads with gas prices rising! It just goes to show that if people want these vehicles they are willing to pay the for the gas. Which they should be able to considering how expensive these vehicles can get, if they can afford one.. they should be able to pay for the gas...

Another reason why I think there are so many around here is because Im by Lake Erie and many people around here have boats to tow..

This vehicle is not for everyone. And some can debate its greenness -- arguing that GM should have used a smaller V-8 or first developed a two-mode hybrid. I disagree with both of these arguments. If SUVs are not for everyone, cars probably aren't either, and buying only what you need is simply un-American.
It is a 2-mode hybrid. And they used a larger V8 so that it would stay in 4 cylinder mode more often. This guy doesn't know what he is talking about.

Hence, the little "2 mode" under the hybrid badge. But what else is new, journalistic knowledge/integrity has been lacking for a while now.

nice my local dealer has a white one, looks nice, but the gray hybrid stickers accross the sides of the car kill it.

Re: GM successfully casts green tint in powerful performance of Chevy Tahoe Hybrid SU

I saw a white one just this past weekend in Marion, NC. I was a bit surprised, given the cost, the area, and the limited availability.

Classic has at least six on their lot. GM's advertising beyond right wing talk radio has been practically nil. You aren't going to move product, if you don't advertise. Prices around here hover around $50k. I drove one, and liked it alot. However, I don't need a large SUV, and would be unwilling to part with 50 large if I did.

My step brother plans on replacing his Tahoe with a new hybrid Tahoe. Dunno when exactly but he was talking like he was going to do it soon.
