Re: G3, Silverado/Sierra Hybrid Pricing Announced

I know it's a rebadge, but I like the G3 over the Aveo.

Re: G3, Silverado/Sierra Hybrid Pricing Announced

Anyone know what the standard equipment is for the Aveo5?

LeftLaneNews says:
Quote:
Pontiac says that air conditioning, a CD/MP3 audio system with auxiliary input jack, fog lamps, rear spoiler, OnStar, and seat-mounted side-impact airbags will be standard across the range.
Does the Aveo5 come standard with all that?

If not, then perhaps that would explain the difference in price from the Aveo5 and why the G3 is priced that much higher.

Perhaps GM is looking to differentiate Pontiac from Chevy more by the list of standard equipment, etc?

Just a thought...

Re: G3, Silverado/Sierra Hybrid Pricing Announced

Is that some kind of April Fools joke, 4.5 months early????

Honda Fit starts at $14.5k... that price includes perceived Honda reliability, and actual Honda good resale value. Now tell me why ANYONE would want to pay MORE to get reheated Korean technology instead? (and less MPG)

Re: G3, Silverado/Sierra Hybrid Pricing Announced

I'm starting to think that these "channels" are part of GM's problems...

I think the whole company should be divided into two channels.

Cadillac - Buick:Premium/ Luxury Dealerships: Your choice of cushy premium, or sporty luxury... No econoboxes here!

Chevy - Pontiac - GMC: Mainstream Dealerships

I still think Saturn and Saab should be axed domestically. Keep Opel and Saab abroad.

What this would accomplish:

1. Focused marketing for dealerships
2. Less overlap:
For example: No G3, because Aveo is at the same dealership. Cancel the Cobalt Coupe, because the G5 is at the same dealership. Keep the Pontiacs at GT or higher trims. No more base models. Also cancel the 4 cyl G6, and the 6 cyl Malibu. Keep G6 as 6cyl only, and Malibu as 4cyl only. That way you could have the Chevy cars and keep Pontiac is the more stylish and sporty versions... It would also eliminate much of the overlap between Chevy and GMC.
3. Streamline Production - Eliminating unnecessary models, saving money.
4. Improve Dealerships into larger super dealerships, to compete with foreign car makers.
5. Less Dealerships competing with each other within GM.

There is no perpose for GMC if Chevy and they are in the same dealership.

You got it backwards, bro. The Malibu goes up against the Camry, Accord, Sonata, Altima, etc. and wins!

The G6 is different... It BARELY competes.

Gee the Holden version with the 1.6L, four airbags etc works out at roughly US$8000-$9000, and that price includes all dealer fees, stamp duty, taxes and registration!!
