It may an optical illusion, but it looks like the "fold flat" third show slopes up from the back to be higher in the front and this carries all the way to the back of the first row as the second row doesn't fold flat either. Also, they just tacked on a raised platform behind the third row to make it fold flat. Kind of lame. I'm sure there's useful storage under the new platform, but it still smacks of aftermarket effort.

Good job GM, you managed to complete bring back the headlights from the National Lampoons Wagon Queen Family Truckster. Those headlights on the new Tahoe look horrible. Why oh why did you choose to put a double swoop. Interior looks awesome. Yukon looks ok, but I can not get over how bad the front headlights are on the new Tahoe.

its growing on me.. I want to see real picture.. GM's press photos are always terrible.. ALWAYS they can make the Stingray look bad.

    But the interiors look great.

the Expedition is just getting pushed farther and farther back..

I really love the profile of the trucks, but those headlights... damn. If they'd shave the two "wings" off each light it wouldn't be too bad. Interior is amazing, love that part of it.

Unless you're like me, and never looked at a Traverse, and thought: "you know what this needs? Steroids."

The Traverse is one of the least attractive GM cars, despite it's very attractive platform-mates. Making the Tahoe less stout and more like the feminine/catty Traverse was a mis-step IMO.

I am in the minority, I assume, but the new Chevy is the handsomer of the new trucks, and I would have been interested to see the same conservative approach there as here, maybe more-so. They have the segment to themselves, so it would have been just fine to keep it simple. The little oddities are not attractive, and the blending of car-line cues on the grille and similarity to Cadillac headlights just seem like poor choices to me.

Re: First Look: 2015 Chevrolet Suburban/Tahoe

I'll be buying a full-size GM SUV in 2-3 years and here's my impressions of it.

    1. COLUMN SHIFTER!!!!!!!!!! Take your ****ty console shifter and leave it in the feminine crossovers where it belongs. I'd rather have the extra space then pretend my 5600lb SUV is a sports car.
    2. The interior is STUNNING!!! I like that I'll have the option to select a non-black/grey dash. I love those shades of brown! I would like to see wood accents even if they are plood.
    3. The four point wheel remains. I hate three point wheels, as I often like to rest my hand at 6:00.
    4. The front ends are fugly. My Avalanche looks 100x better from the front. I don't like the GMC's feminine ATS headlights and I don't like the gross headlights on the Chevy. A body color front end would make the Chevy look better as would removing that little piece of fender that juts out into the headlight.
    3. So in order to appease the fold-flat people, we lost 4" of cargo space? How many cubic feet does that translate to? Give me the space back, I'll remove the seats myself thank you.

Nick, any word on how pricing will change?

The lower fascia and headlights of the Tahoe/Suburban RUIN an otherwise great design. GM will be doing a quick MCE for the front. Guaranteed.

The good = Interior looks awesome. I like body from the fenders back.

The bad = I hate the fender/head lights. I hope that gets changed ASAP, an easy fix would be to put the Silverado grill on it. The trucks just don't look as aggressive as the GMT-900's. Also, why no V6 in the Tahoe? It is just as powerful as the old 4.8L. Would it step on the toes of the Traverse?

I am currently driving a 2013 Suburban....it is my 14th or 15th in the past twenty years or so.

It will be my last based on this "Son Of Excursion" exterior design.

Besides looking very Ford-like it is fat and bloated.

    Mark me bitterly disappointed.

    Who approves this crap?

Did I mention how bitterly disappointed I am?

I truly think the decision to remain V8-only is that maybe a Mid-size offering (top engine = V6) will be offered (TrailBlazer off the new Colorado platform). Why bother with a Tahoe V6 that likely won't sell well (or at all) if a mid-size SUV will be offered too? Think Silverado / Colorado plan here.

I was just reading the comments over at Powerblock TV's FB page, and these are normal car fans, not GM fans per se, and the are saying that the Chevy looks like it has Ford headlights as well. LOL, I hope they have time to revise this, or it may be another 2013 Malibu scenario.

I agree 110%! I'm sure the front end will grow on me though.

It looks like they added some in-floor storage to make it all fit together. It's not much, but it kind of amkes up for the loss of cargo space. I'm with you though, I'd rather just remove the seats like I currently do.
