What a bunch of jibberish nonsense.

The internet has really brought out the best journalists in the world!

Great summary and so very true in may ways!

Re: Edmunds Commentary On Chevy Corvette: It "Sucks"; No Longer "Cool".

I'll be the dissenting voice here.

The Corvette performs great, but it's NOT cool... sorry guys.

I think it happened sometime in the 1970's. Because I know the C2 Corvette was REALLY cool. The C3 was kind of cool at first... but then something happened... I don't know what.

The Stingray to me, embodies everything that a Corvette should be in a perfect world. Compact, tight proportions. Expressive lines. Appeals to both men and women. A 'je ne sais pas quoi' about the car.

That's why I was so excited when I heard that Chevy was considering a Kappa Stingray, with a 5.3L V8 under the hood. Returns to those original compact, tight proportions with a 'right-sized' engine.

I almost feel the same way about Ferraris and Jaguar sports cars. They lost something in the 1970's. Jaguar got it back with the 1998 XK... Ferrari never did.

Right size engine what they hell are you talking about? Have you ever heard of the 427, 454? Why down size engines? I find it funny the only thing people can say bad about the vette is the interior, last time I checked when I was running threw the finish line down the 1/4 mile track, the interior was the last thing on my mind!

Picky, picky, picky!

Well reading those first few paragraphs was a complete waste of time, so I guess it doesn't get any better and judging by the comment shere there's no "I'm just messin' with ya" at the end, so I'm done here.

I am sure he walks up to his boy friend and says, don't take this the wrong way and all, but you're fat, ugly, over weight, but I love you so much. He has no clue.

The article was successful. It drew attention to the jerk that wrote it which is really all he cared about doing. Damned shame it also cast a negative cloud over Edmunds, though. It was like burning a flag. It drew attention by doing something obviously unAmerican and very stupid.

Dufus, Your the problem. Thinking that a kid graduating from college should have the financial means to buy a $50k car. Reality check.

With our jobs leaving the country, with our wealth and financial power leaving the middle class, the result of decades of refusing to address real issues both social and political in this country. Thus what we're left with is $8 an hour, no career, no health care, no retirement, and no ability to buy a $50k vehicle. A degree isn't an entitlement to a Corvette. That's the new reality. It's not the Corvette's fault that Americans have lost our jobs and means to buy a $50k vehicle. Welcome to the new reality and effect of the global economy. We used to be the greatest country in the world, now we're 13th (ref UDNP 2009 Human Development Report http://hdr.undp.org/en/media/HDR_2009_EN_Summary.pdf) when multiple factors.

There's a new reality for America, we're not what we once were. This is a problem, not the vehicle.

Well, according to this guy BMW and Infinity G35/37 are cool(er), show style and expensive lines. Maybe to Martha Stewart and my next door neighbor Babyboomer old ladies, I can bet that they can afford Corvette but they left that car to their older and silly halves along with the other cars on your list.

The youngsters cannot afford MazdaSpeed3 and Cobalt SS today when they leave the college, because babyboomers made sure that their jobs left the country for good.

Exactly what I would expect from a 22 year old "journalist" making minimum wage.

I'm positive Camaro....ANY Camaro is way out of his reach too. Insurance alone would blow him out of the water.

Let's move on.

I'm just saying I think the Corvette can be MORE than it is right now. There's more to life than cubes and drag racing.

Better wait until you are in your 60's to buy your Reward Car.
88% of all new Corvette buyers were born before 1946.

Those days never ever existed. The only kids that had them were the ones with rich parents.
