Sad to say that the Fusion on the same track in Nascar looks a whole lot better than this.

Ehh it looks like a NASCAR car, and that's about all I can say.

I find it sad that some people wish for GM to fail and can't comprehend any good news. A plausible explanation for this kind of behavior is that you have a miserable life so you wish the same to others. Cory Pham, Autoblog Poster
GM must return its divisions to being interdependent entities within the corporation. Decentralize and free the different divisions talents to foster brand differentiation and customer loyalty.
really? some of you are so thick.
you cannot base you opinions on an unreleased car by looking at its NASCAR version. furthermore, what the hell do you all expect. i dont see chevy having designed a class leading rear drive family sedan. come to think of it, only caddy have out of the gm stable, and what price a rear drive caddy with a 6.0 ltr engine.

i suggest you all sit down, shut the hell up and wait till the car actually makes its production debut. and when it does, if you dont like it, go and buy a BMW, just to ensure another nail goes into GM's coffin. then you will all be able to celebrate in 5 years when you have no rear drive chevy, just sonics and other fwd fodder, trucks and a corvette and comaro.
whenever you **** can your own brands like you do(aussies do the same) you just hand market share and quality perception to foreigners(****, koreans, germans). stop the rot and shut the hell up. be happy for christs sake that you will have a true traditional style chevy that'll melt bitumen with the family on board.

I have no doubt the SS will be an impressive sport sedan never mind its horrible misuse of a name but I really think Malibu would have been a better choice for NASCAR. I don't see how Chevrolet who is supposed to be our world brand pulls the Cruze out the World Touring Car Championship after it dominates and wins the Drivers' and Manufacturers' Championship 3 seasons in a row. Why not capitalize on that? Instead they throw the money at a low volume machine with half a name and stick it in the most inane racing series in the world. Lets be honest. It has to be at least thirty years since NASCAR was relevant to car sales. Let alone lent any performance cachet to a mark racing in it.

I've got to admit with the Corvette looking the way it does, the SS better be packing else it might as well stay put down here. Yes the VF is a model facelift of an existing car but seriously, GM has for the first time in years released a car that has totally impressed me and I dare say quite a lot of other punters would be in the same boat. It would be a crying shame if all this good publicity goes out the window with a 'meh' response to the SS.
To me this is the most interesting vehicle to come from GM in a long, long time. I can't wait to see the production SS (still wish it had a real name like Chevelle, though) and I eagerly await a comparo between it and the Charger R/T and the Taurus SHO. I'm still leaning toward the Dodge sedan (maybe even a six speed Challenger R/T) especially if the SS turns out to be too bland looking. The Vette looks and sounds fine but I'm still feeling too young to buy a new or newer one; an old one is cool, though. The Impala again feels too old for me.
Is there any chance that the SS' engine will be a detuned version of the Vette's new 6.2L? I would imagine since it's coming out after the Vette it will have the new plant with about 430HP; same with the Camaro for 2015.
