Re: cnet: 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Sedan

The fuel efficiency is a good point.

I have an 05 Cobalt SS Supercharged Stage 2,and the
stock rating is 28 MPG on Highway.

I got the stage 2 upgrade, and am still AVERAGING 28 MPG, not just Highway.

I believe there is an automatic, but it has 230hp, not 260hp.
Then again, I guess not, which is odd. I know you can get an HHR SS with it because I've seen one.

While some insist on having a nav system option in this car, how many would actually pay for it? Options add weight and cost money. I could easily do without such an extra, just as I have in every other car I've owned. This Cobalt SS sounds like a pretty nice vehicle for the price.

I'd say they liked it. I know I'm impressed with the SS.

Anybody notice the camera guy or director in the reflection of the door jump out of the way close to the end of the video when he pulled up? Funny stuff.

Re: cnet: 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Sedan

I don't get the big deal with nav systems, what ever happened to taking out a map and finding your own way before you leave? If people always rely on technology how the heck are they gona get around if they don't have Nav? Same with kids having they're eyes glued to a DVD screen instead of out the window, they wont know how to get around if ever they get lost! Oh I have an Idea! get them a personal GPS!

Car = get from point A to B (while using your own brain), economical because your car doesn't have all sorts of techno crap like nav, back up censors/camera and park assist which adds wait. Just have some good tuns and performance, and your good to go

The Cobalt SS is looking great, love the wheels, and 260hp! Ouff! Definitely a car I would consider, and probably buy if in the market and not have an X-11

Youre right. They did not make an auto for the SS sedan. The HHR SS looks nice though. Especially the one with the panels instead of windows.

Kind of stunning that there is no auto available in the SS 4Dr., doesn't that seem like the most likely candidate for one....instead of the HHR ??

Re: cnet: 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Sedan

The Cobalt in general is a nice little car. The non-SS is a leader in Fuel economy and probably middle of the pack in interior and driving. The SS is a leader in everything but average in interior looks. What makes me sick is this car has above average looks in my opinion, but critics continue to say its bland. What the hell are they talking about ? Have any of you ever sat in Civic. This car has hard plastics everywhere inside the cabin with a weird cheap looking instrument cluster. It may handle better than a non-SS Cobalt but I think the Cobalt looks better. The only thing the Civic performance model has over the Cobalt SS is a optional Nav screen but that is one issue I have with GM. What do you all think ?

Nope, no auto trans on the cobalt turbo, only on the HHR SS. But there is a major problem with the brakes at this time, I wouldnt buy until they resolve it. HHRs are awesome though, I have one.
