This looks a lot like the new Cruze they were testing in China. Perhaps this is the "family look" GM is moving to for Chevrolet products --- either regionally in China or worldwide?
OMG everything Chevy has been putting out lately from the trucks to cars looks like#$%! Everything they have and nothing that I like it all looks like a mistake.
As the owner of two Sonics, I have to say I don't like it. I like the existing front end better BECAUSE it stands out. The back just looks like it got too hot and started to melt.
I truly hope that this is not the intended direction for the U.S. Sonic. They have a uniquely good looking facia now. I would hate to see them make the Sonic styling typical.
The current Sonic has a real nice look but I can see this being more mainstream. As they say in the Cadillac commercial, vanilla. So maybe its lost some of the excitement but it will seem less juvenile. I don't mean that in a bad way.
Don't like it at all, lost the aggressive front styling young buyers are more likely to be drawn to and still have not fixed the back, typical of GM styling today - fix what is not broken and ruin what worked.
I do not like the "all cars have to look alike" strategy that nearly all automakers use either since the size of the car has a bearing on whether the styling "works" on it or not, in this case this new front makes the car like narrow, top heavy and cheap not to mention bland.
I miss the round headlights. They're what made the front end for me. And the tail lights on the current 4 and 5 door are just right. I think it is already a great design for a small car and not too derivative.
