Chevy Improves Conquest Lease Program; $22k Trax Is $53/Month; $0 Down

GM has now added bonus tags to the current import conquest program.

Looking for a 2017 Chevy Trax? Look at this:

This month, Chevrolet released new incentives and programs for their lineup of vehicles. In particular, there's a $3,000 Competitive Lease Cash incentive for current lessees of Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru, or Kia vehicles, which when combined with strong residual values and reasonable rates, can result in sub-$100/month leases.

Sub-$100/month vehicles include Chevrolet Cruze, Trax, Equinox, and, if all the stars are aligned, Malibu. Today, we'll focus on we'll focus on Trax, Chevrolet's sub-compact SUV.

Re: Chevy Improves Conquest Lease Program; $22k Trax Is $53/Month; $0 Down

The incentives currently listed at chevy.com are some of the most generous I have ever seen, from any manufacturer. I am starting to wonder what the heck they are doing.

Using my $2000 GM Card earnings, I can lease a 2017 Cruze LT for $15.21 per month, a 2017 Equinox for $50.63 per month, and a 2017 Volt - with 15,000 miles per year allowance - for $147.94 per month. All of this with just tax and tags down.

One slight problem...I don't have a leased, imported vehicle in my household.

Your insurance will be more than the lease.. crazy cheap.

Should just lease extra cars for spares. ;-)

I have a feeling that things are not as rosy as pictured here in Trumpville, USA. There must be an tremendous amount of inventory out there right now.

I say that with the knowledge that these incredible incentives are limited to a specific target market.

Hard to say .. credit is flowing much more freely, employment is up and the fleet out there is still pretty old so sales should still be brisk. That said > these leases seem ridiculously cheap. Residuals must be phony also.

    .
It's not about Trumpville. Subsidized leases and loans have been ballooning for many months now.

So even on crazy deals like this is the Cap (cost of the car) still negotiable? It usually is in a lease.

For the Nox they are probably running down the last of the old before the new one comes out, same is probably true about the Traverse as well. The Colorodo is probably the real shock on that list as it is selling well, though looking around I found a $32,000 Toyota Tacoma with a $277 a month lease deal which probably explains that. The Trax is also unexpected, expected to see all of their cars on this list.

Yes you can still negotiate a dealer discount that is independent and in addition to all the incentives. Also can stack GM card points on top of all that.

New Equinoxes are hitting the dealer lots as we speak so I imagine they're really wanting to dump the old ones.

I have a feeling they are pushing because inventory is high. The local dealer has scads of Equinox's and Cruze's on the lot.

I doubt it, there is no reason for them to do that.... it probably has more to do with over supply on some models (cars really) and bringing supply in line with demand.

I know some people will not agree with my reasoning.....but these deals GM is offering are a BIG reason that our last 5 new cars in a row have been non-GM Vehicles. I BUY my cars, I don't like to lease...but yet people are getting incentives that allows them to pay less, a LOT less for the same car than I can because they leased a car in the past or are coming from a certain type of vehicle that I dont' have.

I hate targeted deals....for some customers, there is NO way to alienate your customer than to tell them someone else can get a LOT better deal on a vehicle than you can.

Re: Chevy Improves Conquest Lease Program; $22k Trax Is $53/Month; $0 Down

It is a way to get "conquest" sales however the big flaw here comes down to what other car makers do. If they do this and it is successful then their competitors will just throw discounts on their cars as well and it ends up being a zero sum game.

Really they just need to idle the plants a bit, sales of CUVs and trucks will cover for them while they get supply and demand back in line. It partly comes down to short sighted thinking when in reality the best thing to do is to take the hit now without sabotaging your own future.
