Re: Chevy Delta II news...

Let's keep the Cobalt name. Better yet, why not bring back the Cavalier name. After all, that name stuck for 23 years.

Global foot print? NOVA means doesn't go in spanish, which is the second most spoken language after english in the world. Not a good name for
global product.

1. People have a good impression of the Cobalt

3. Enough with the freaking name changes already!
I agree. The Cobalt is not a bad little car, nothing there creating a need for a name change!

Civic has always been Civic. GM should stick with the Cobalt name.

Re: Chevy Delta II news...

the gas fill is on the passengers side which is a PIA in the states. i had a cobalt loaner for a few days while the impala was getting the FI gasket changed and pulling up to the pump on the other side was a pain

I remember the Cobalt showing up around 2004, no? that's 4 years.

You'd think with just a little more style and better options, it could go a couple of more years before it needed a redesign.

Why not make the Cobalt name global?

Maybe a year longer ... Cobalt launched in 2004 for the 2005 model year.

Re: Chevy Delta II news...

I wonder if the new crossover that was discussed will replace the HHR as well. By 2010 the HHR would have been 5yrs. old and in desperate need of a makeover. I can only hope.

Re: Chevy Delta II news...

Considering how people call the cobalt a cavalier, I don't think that name really stuck and Cobalt doesn't exactly fit with the retro names theme. Its going to be either cavalier or Nova.

Biggest lie ever, this is the oldest, fakest rumor ever. Why do people perpetuate this crap? The 'No va' story isn't true, never was. Accept it and move on.

Monza would be beyond cool.

Nova would be OK.

But please, no Chevette.

Re: Chevy Delta II news...

You don't need a single global name. You could easily have one for the NA market, SA market, Europe, Africa and Asia.

But you DO you need a consistent name year after year. Sigh GM.

They really should just keep the cobalt name, it isn't tarnished, and they might as well not waste all of the brand awareness dollars they've already spent.

I vote for Monza. It was a small car in the 70s. It was long enough ago that it doesn't have a image attached to it for most people but some will remember it.
