Just wait until Saturn, Buick, Pontiac, Saab, and Cadillac get a version of the "Orlando."

But the more and more I see this strategy unfold, the more I'm seeing it turn into another VW debacle, when they decided to move VW upmarket and suddenly everything bunched up.
It cost VW significant sales from disgruntled customers.

I hope this doesn't happen with GM.

I fail to see the need for so many CUV's. So many brands. So many CUV's.
Keep up the rants. Though this is an MPV.

Saturn/Opel is the only other division(s) that should get one of these, aside from perhaps Holden or Vauxhall.

Very nice interior....
BUT... that interior has now appeared in the Cruze, the Astra, and now the Orlando.

How many more GM?? How many more!!!
I understand your point, Mgescuro.

GM is the king of recycling exteriors & interiors, thus giving many of their own brands a corporate interior for any class of car as well as exteriors w/not much differentation most of the time. Typical GM idiocy!

Same thing as a CUV. Or small SUV. I love it, but it's another CUV.

As for the interior, what's so wrong about the Orlando and Cruze sharing an interior? The Orlando is basically a big Cruze wagon. If I have the choice between lots of different crappy interiors or a smaller number of shared, nicer interiors, I'll take the nice ones. Why waste the money on a unique interior for the Orlando if the Cruze dash and door covers fit? It would be different if this was going to Pontiac or Cadillac or Buick, but we're talking about two models off the same platform for Chevrolet.

Not necessarily. Even w/the designers getting some of the power back to help GM gain more sales from the exterior looks of their cars/etc, doesn't mean that the beancounters aren't cutting corners elsewhere. Using virtually the same interior of one model(w/in the same brand or not) in another is not a good idea. The interior becomes a corporate interior, just like corporate radios being put in all models across all brands.

I agree in the sense that I don't want to see the exact same interior in the Aveo, Cobalt, Cruze, HHR, Malibu, Equinox, Impala, etc... but the Orlando is pretty much a Cruze wagon, so I don't see it as being so bad.

In the same vein, if ever Pontiac gets a unique G5 with an interior different than that in the Cobalt, I would be okay if the Vibe shared the G5 interior, since in spirit the Vibe is a G5 wagon.

The only I see that happening is if the G5 switches from GM Delta, to a rebadge of the Corolla, which the Vibe and it's Matrix cousin are based from. If that happens (unlikely) the car should be called the G4 and the Vibe re-named G5, but that would make too much sense.

Oh I know the Vibe is an oddball, but I mean in theory. The next Vibe should be on delta... GM should make a coupe, sedan and wagon G5, and not waste the money on different exterior and interior designs on the three.
