Re: Chevrolet to drop «Cobalt» name
This is correct. I carpooled with two guys and one owned a Nova and the other a Carolla. I had a hard time telling them apart since they were the same color.

Apparently some people in the 80's loved their Citations (heck, my wife was almost born in one) and Chevy is looking to reconnect with the popular Citation name. Just Kidding.... (except the part about my wife is true). Seriously, they better come up with a darn good name because it seems silly to kill the Colbalt name unless they are planning on pulling that "Malibu Classic" garbage again and keep making them.

Re: Chevrolet to drop «Cobalt» name
I'm with everyone who says that this is just silly, and show's just how much trouble GM is in. Forget building world-class, class-leading cars... they can't even name them.
Build something new and different and want it to stand out? Give it a new name (aka Flex). Build something to replace a simple, plain, average, everyday compact car? Keep the same damn name!

Re: Chevrolet to drop «Cobalt» name
So what is it going to be called the Nubira. I wouldn't approve if this was the case.

Re: Chevrolet to drop «Cobalt» name
Hey! My 77 Vega was a winner! I put 145000 miles on it and only gave it up because the third kid couldn't fit in.

Then the reason for the name "Chevy Unobtainium" will become crystal clear...

Re: Chevrolet to drop «Cobalt» name
Onobtainium is the new light chassis material. Get it right.

Re: Chevrolet to drop «Cobalt» name
The first thing GM should do before they change the name of anything, is get rid of about half of the loonies running amuck at headquarters. These people must roost on a limb with their heads under their wings. I'm begining to wonder if there is a brain larger than a rasin in the entire group..............what are they smoking.
