DETROIT (Reuters) - Protests from seven safety groups prompted General Motors Corp. <GM.N> to pull a television ad that shows a young boy driving a Corvette sports car so recklessly that it goes airborne, officials of the automaker said on Wednesday

The ad, featuring the Rolling Stones song "Jumpin&#39; Jack Flash," has aired repeatedly during the Olympics. The groups, including Consumers Union and the Center for Auto Safety, complained that it was "the most dangerous" spot they have seen in recent years.............

i&#39;m not supposed to go around dropping anvils on peoples head, but i can find cartoons that do at 8 am on saturday morning. this is a fantastic commercial. a little "professional driver on closed road" label should cover it.

I&#39;m so sick of these idiotic groups. Its just a friggin dream. Its a Vette for crying out loud. Do you want them to have a commerical of some kid parking the Vette or driving it 25 mph in a school zone&#33;? Jeez I&#39;m surprised they didn&#39;t get the car rack commercial pulled.....I mean my God that SSR driver is a danger to the public. Nevermind the real problems in this country.

The other day I was driving my parent&#39;s Escalade on the interstate, and I got behind this old beat-up truck that had writting all over it.. So I got close to read the writting, and it said things like "down with SUV&#39;s...save Earth" and all that crap.. So, I passed him, and he flipped me off, and pointed at this "SUV=Harmful planet". So, I flipped him off back, and said a few words with the window down

Bottom line: There are people in this country who will bitch about anything. Remember that Cadillac commercial a while back? The Caddy spent some time driving on the wrong side of the road, and the consumer safety advocates jumped in to save the people too stupid to think for themselves. GM didn&#39;t pull the ad, but they went in and edited out the lines on the road. If you&#39;re too stupid to realize you shouldn&#39;t drive on the wrong side of the road, then YOU SHOULD NOT BE DRIVING&#33; Likewise if you are too stupid to realize you shouldn&#39;t try anything you see on TV yourself, YOU SHOULD NOT BE DRIVING&#33;

Let&#39;s stop all these idiotic consumer groups and allow nature to take its course. Please, for the love of Darwin, this overprotection crap needs to STOP&#33;&#33;

This reminds me..... there&#39;s been an ad for the new F-150 running lately about the strength od the bolts that are used in the F-150&#39;s bed. In the ad, the truck is lifted using a single one of these bolts longways. An engineer walks under the truck as it is suspended in air by this one bolt. On the bottom of the screen is a disclaimer "Do not attempt this at home" or something to that effect. What a joke&#33; This is what happens when litigation gets out of hand.

that is so stupid. just like video games and movies make people do stupid stuff. it&#39;s stupid people that don&#39;t know the difference between Hollywood and reality that are at fault, not the TV or video game industry.

actually, my dreams consisted of the 911 and Countach. no Vette was ever a part of my dreams...... sorry.
