With an official reveal set for later today, this is the first look at the new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado.
The partially-revealed front grille and headlight comes courtesy WDIV in Detroit, showing a bold new front end, though hardly a departure from past designs.
As for what’s under the hood, GM has confirmed the truck will get its new generation of small block V8 engines, which will use direct injection to deliver added power and superior fuel economy. An 8-speed automatic transmission is also rumored to be in the pipe, though it’s not expected at launch.
Big changes are also planned inside the cabin where the Silverado, as well as its GMC Sierra twin, need updates in a big way. A new “High Country” version will join the lineup as well, as GM looks to compete with Ford and RAM in the growing luxury pickup segment.

Looks good, I like the Z71 emblem location. Reminds me of where the "GS" emblem was located on '68-'72 Buicks.

From the little we see, I think those of us who liked the Current gen trucks will like this even more. For the others of us who were more partial to the styling of the Ram or the F150, I think they will still like the F150 or Ram.
