With the engine update, Impala can and will soldier on until the new model arrives. It's a shame that GM has lost such equity in the Impala name by not keeping it current.

Are they showing it at New York next week or will it arrive quietly at dealerships this summer?

Yeah I know right? It only took 7 years and two Malibu updates. BTW now that you've updated the vehicles in your sig I'm looking forward to drag racing you in your CABS coach down Woody Hayes when I'm up on campus again. Don't worry I'll give you a headstart your Cummins ISL will need it!

I drove an '04 yesterday and it was absolutely gutless at launch. Extreme turbo lag FTW.

    Re: 2012 Chevrolet Impala Updates

A female co worker of mine was telling us last week that she was behind an Impala and that it looked a lot different that any she had seen before. That the rear had like a crome strip across the back and Impala spelled out across the back. When showing her pictures of the current car, she said no that it looked different than that. So not sure if this was a 2012 that she saw or what, but now seeing this really has my curoisity peaked.

    Re: 2012 Chevrolet Impala Updates

This is a fleet car and it gives Chevy a bad name because of the lack of quality so they needed to do something to make it not such an embarrassment. Fuel numbers should be really good for this car because it is not that heavy if I recall correctly.

Hm I like the changes, in the case of the Impala it might not mean much, but this shows that the New GM is willing to refresh their products...

    New Engines
    New front and rear design
    some new colors and rims
    a few new tech options....

I like it, I hope GM does this with most of their vehicles going forward, it will keep them fresh and will help their vehicles keep a respectable name in the market... I am hoping they do something like this for the Cruze in 2012..

Should have put that drivetrain in a few years ago. Wonder what the reasoning was for not offering it until now.
