Re: XM Radio increases fees 30%

I had a Delphi SkyFi installed in my Saab convertible in October of 2003. I drive to work in the morning with it, remove it at the office for use on my desk stereo, and back to the Saab it goes on the way home. I am an XM addict. I would pay up to $ 29.90 a month not to listen to New York radio station commercials.

Note to all...
If you have XM and are paying by the month, do what I just did; call customer service and pay for an entire year (or more) at today's current rates.

Thanks for the warning!

I listen to my SkyFi all day at work too (Rikki Don't Lose That Number right now), but I leave it here during the week (I have a very short commute). I take it home on weekends and holidays.

Good idea - I'm going to pay up for the year at $9.95.

Attn Moderator(s):

Move this topic somewhere so that people can lock in their XM rates for up to *5* years!

I know it's not allot of money. I just can't pay over $10 per mo.

Re: XM Radio increases fees 30%

I have enough monthly payments. Little ones, but they all add up. I'm not going to list them all, but let's just say that I've lost interest in getting XM.

Too bad the rates went up, but you don't know what you are missing with O&A. They make my morning commute bearable. I drive 60 miles to work every day, so a good morning show is a must.
Also, look at the alternative in Sirius, it costs the same.

Sweet Mary, mother of God (or is it Jesus?)! And I thought buying a new home 33 miles from work was pushing it. Then again, people from where I come don't like to travel at all. Your trip puts my soon-to-come commute into perspective. Thanks!

Maybe I'll need to get some XM in my car? Nah, I'm too cheap, er, frugal.

Re: XM Radio increases fees 30%

This is sad. I can't stand O&A, MLB, and I don't need to listen to XM online, but now I'm forced to pay for it, when I used to be able to choose. This is bad......

I'll be cancelling XM in my Suburban and Buick, and I'll be getting a portable Pioneer AirWare XM radio. XM still has better programming than Sirius IMO, and better Sirius, but now thats basically their only main advantage. I wish XM would have never signed O&A, and the MLB. Let Sirius take all the talk and crap like that. I want XM focusing on Music.

Re: XM Radio increases fees 30%

Still at 12.95, its worth getting XM. I love having that feature in my car. Since I drive long distances, fiddling around with the FM dial and having stations fizzle out, isn't fun. I'd still pay for XM at that rate.
