In the words of Edmunds.com...

"What this means to you:"

Five days on the lot means that Saturn dealers are following GM retail guidelines.

In most cases, they are probably selling the Sky for straight list with little or no mark-up.

The quick turn-over is a primary indication that they are not holding the cars for the highest bidder; aka Pontiac dealers with the Solstice... Notice how the Solstice is not on the above list.

Cheers to Saturn retailers for doing the right thing!

excellent! don't go gouging the customer when you finally get a decent product to sell!

Re: WSJ: Saturn Sky Is Hottest Car In USA

The list is confusing - it has nothing to do with what the best selling vehicle is (in terms of units sold) it has to do with how long the vehicle sits on the lot. If you have a new vehicle that happens to be popular and you have limited production it will have a short shelf life on the dealer lot. It doesn't necessarily mean those are the hottest cars.

The Ford F150, Silverado, Camry and Accord aren't on the list and they are the best selling vehicles in the US.

WOW! Did you see all of those Toyota models? Perhaps when the new trucks come out and the CTS hits, this list will have a little more balance

The last time I was at a Saturn dealership they had a yellow Sky. They got it at about 9 am and it was sold by noon.
Great job GM!

Definitely surprised not to see the Solstice. Then again, I'm sure whoever made this list decided what statistics it would be based on after figuring out what would be best for Toyota.

Re: WSJ: Saturn Sky Is Hottest Car In USA

Ok, they can may be selling them new at list, but what is to keep them from turn ing them, and selling them as a used car to the highest bidder. The one in my dealership was used, barely New except it had neen sold and was being resold. I guess that is fair as long as the dealers are not abusing the practice.

Re: WSJ: Saturn Sky Is Hottest Car In USA

I haven't seen a Sky on the road yet. I saw the one at my local dealership, btut that's it. Of course the mid-west ain't the best place for roadsters.

I have seen about 3 Solti on the road.

What's really amazing is that the Yaris is there, and way up the list, too. All of the other cars are relatively low production. I've seen lots of them during my commute, many more than the Hoda fits. It supports my feeling that the Aveo will be in trouble because shoppers in that segment base 90% of their decision on mileage; in the subcompact market, Yaris gets the best mileage, yet the Fit is better in almost every other way.

Now that is a bit of an extreme view of media bias. I wouldn't go that far.
