Virginia Tech Students Win GM Challenge X 2006

General Motors (GM) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), lead sponsors for the Challenge X: Crossover to Sustainable Mobility engineering competition, congratulated students from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, who took top honors today at this second annual competition in a three-year series.

Heheh.. I go to VirginiaTech and I did a little volunteering for the team a year or so ago.. I would have loved to be a part of the team for real but i had so much classes and stuff to do. Kudos to them! They're a great bunch!

the vue gets almost as good mileage. they could easily spread the BAS to the Nox

I'm sure GM will spread the BAS hybrid system to the other Theta-based vehicles once the bugs (if any) are worked out in the first year or two of Vue GL production. A BAS Equinox with great mileage would be nice and even Pontiac could modify the BAS system a little bit for the Torrent to gear it more toward perfomance with no fuel economy drop - or even a slight gain.
